To Whom it May Concern,

It is my pleasure to strongly recommend Julie Downs for future endeavors and opportunities in the
Occupational Therapy field.

I am Jodi Susick, the Lead Therapist at The Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Greater Pittsburgh. I
have been an Occupational Therapist for 21 years holding numerous positions as an entry level
therapist, then a seasoned clinical fieldwork supervisor, advancing to Director of Rehabilitation for 5
years. Finding I missed the clinical side, I chose to come back to my “OT” roots and remain in the facility
as the Lead Therapist, transitioning several rehab directors and serving as interim when necessary.

I have had countless students in my career. Julie stands out to me as a strong motivated individual with
a good sense of self, as well as her goals and aspirations for her future. In the short time that I had with
her, I noted that she has an empathetic, genuine and kind nature. She was excellent in her interactions
with the patients. She is comfortable with interpersonal interactions and related well with other staff
within the rehab department as well as the nursing staff. Clinically, for this point in her young career,
she has a strong grasp of what OT entails in all of its entirety. Julie is timely, reliable and responsible.

I am absolutely confident that Julie will grow to be an excellent Occupational Therapist. I plan to
continue to correspond with her to assist or support her as she grows in her schooling/career path.

If you need further information or specifics that I did not touch on, please do not hesitate to contact me
at 724-309-1522 or email at jsusick@greaterpittsburghrnc.com.

Sincerely,

Jodi Susick, OTR/L
