What were your key takeaways from this from the workshop
for you??

every system can be converted to a flux balance and analysed as a thermodynamic

system

From simple to very complex Earth systems, thermodynamics can help us understand the
processes involved in those systems, interactions between components in those systems
and forms of energy involved. Structures and organizations form as a result of these
processes.

The topics covered were simple and the course covered a vast range of topics. It made
way for a strong base to understanding topics on thermodynamics in earth systems.

I learn, how to present ourself on the board , a lots of direction (topics) where should I go
after my master . for me one thing that
touche me is when I meet diff professors I realise how they observe on a base of topic.

The perspective of lectures lead me to think in different direction of the physics.

Importantly, relative interpretations between different mediums made me to think about
the applicability in my field of expertise.
What is the thing that you liked most about Axel's way of
teaching?
5 responses

He prepares his slides very well. This makes it simple to understand.

He always asks for feedback or what we have leaned from the previous class before
starting a new topic

The presentations were very detailed. Teaching was with adequate pace and was made
sure students understood them well.

He understand the thing not only on own ways ,but he also try to understand about the
thing by other.

I thank Dr. Axel kleidon for his wonderful lectures and spending precious time with us. His
simple and logical way of teaching was brilliant.

Is there something in the lectures that could have been done

differently?

4 responses

The part where we were given projects should have been given more energy and time.
Perhaps a second round where students improve their models and remove the caveats if
pointed out in the previous presentation.

No. It think it was ok!

Perhaps covers more topics that students would be interested in and thus make it more
useful and applicable.

nope
Did you benefit from the tutorials by Annu?
5 responses

Yes

Yes. Especially in quantifying the positive and negative feedbacks

Yes. Hands on training gave us some exercises to work on

Ya

Yes, Thanks Miss. Anu

Where do you feel that the organisation could have been

better?

5 responses

For tutorials, number of problems should be increased. May be we could have shared
problems the previous day and asked people to spend some time on them.

It could have been better if we had a chance to sight some laboratories or made physical
models outside classroom setup.

Organisation of the workshop was done very well, nothing to improve upon

Everything's is good

I thank organisation for the facilitation.

Any additional feedback for the workshop?

None

Apart from lectures, some of us faced accommodation issues shifting from one place to
another. Hope in the near future things be organized well regarding participants welfare.
Otherwise, overall, the workshop was great!
Please do conduct many such workshops in the future.

I thank organising committee for choosing me as a participant for this workshop. I shall
be glad and look forward to attend such important lectures in near future. Greetings
