D. Analysis

There are the five senses – sight, smell, touch,

taste and hearing. Our senses helps us to
understand what’s happening around us. They are
very important to how our body operate.

Sight – manifests itself through the eyes, which

detects color and light. With our eyes we are able
to see. With our eyes we can see the sun shines,
we can see our family and how beautiful is.
Hearing – manifests itself through the ears, which
detect sound. With our ear we are able to hear.
You can be able to hear your favorite music, the
song of a bird and your mother when going to a
dinner.

Touch – manifests through the skin, the skin

detects heat, cold, pressure and pain. With our
hands or skin we are able to touch. We can feel
the texture of the things around us the heat of
the sun and the cold when it rains.

Smell – manifests through the nose. With our

nose we are able to smell. We can smell the
fragrance of coffee and milk and the smell of the
fresh flowers in the morning. The nose helps
detects scents and chemicals in the air.

Taste – manifests through the tongue. We are

able to taste with our tongue. The tongue detects
taste: salty, sweet, sour, and bitter. Taste is the
ability to detect different chemicals in food,
minerals and even poisonous substance.

E. Abstraction

If you really understand our lesson, what is our

five senses?

Very good!
For you to be able to remember our lesson today
I have here a song. Sense of sight, smell, hear, touch, taste

( Song about our senses )

Okay, children what will happen if you do not

have these senses?
Would you be able to taste and smell your ice
cream?

Would you be able to watch and hear your

favorite television cartoons?

Can you touch your things? No!

Is it important to have our senses?

No!
Why?
No!
Senses are important because they allow us to
perceive the world which we live in. Without our Yes!
senses, we wouldn’t have any idea on what’s
going on around us and the human body would (answers may vary)
be useless.
Since you know that our senses are important,
what should we do with our senses?
Very good. We should protect them. We should
take good care of our senses. But how are we
going to do that? How are we going to take care
of our senses?
What else? We should protect them
Alright!

Eyes - we can protect it from minimizing its

exposure to sunlight. We should wear eyeglasses By eating healthy foods.
when needed. Get enough sleep. Take exercise.
Ears – we should avoid noise or we limit our
exposure to a very loud noise.
Nose – don’t use cleaning products and other
chemicals with strong fumes. Eat foods that are
high in zinc.
Tongue – avoid smoking and brush your teeth
regularly
Hands – always keep our skin or hand clean by
washing it regularly.

Do you now understand the importance of our

senses and how are we going to protect it?

Yes, ma’am.
