Integrated Circuits Lab Simulations and Design

The document contains instructions for simulating and designing PCBs for three circuits. Students are asked to: 1) Simulate, design a PCB, and plot voltages and current for a voltage regulator circuit. 2) Repeat for a dual voltage regulator circuit and plot additional voltages. 3) Calculate a resistor value to activate a relay, simulate the circuit, and plot various voltages and currents.

1. A. Using LTSpice, simulate the circuit shown in Fig.1 and design a PCB for the same circuit using
ki-cad.
B. Compute all the required ratings for each of the components (except 7812), so that the circuit
can supply up to a 100 mA load.
C. Plot the input voltage (AB), output voltage (CD) and the voltage ripple across the capacitor C1
(ED). Assume V1 = 230 V rms, 50 Hz, R1 = 150 and C1`= C2 = 100

2. A. Using LTSpice, simulate the circuit shown in Fig. 2 and design a PCB for the same circuit
using ki-cad.
B. Compute all the required ratings for each of the components (except 7812 and 7912), so that
the circuit can supply up to a 100 mA load.
C. Plot the voltages across the nodes i) AB ii) CD iii) ED iV) FG V) HG and Vi) current through
the resistors R1 and R2. Consider V1 = 230 V rms, 50 Hz, R1 = R2 = 200 and C1`= C2 = C3`= C4

3. A. For the relay circuit shown in Fig. 3, compute the resistor value of R1 to activate the relay
(SRD-05VDC-SL-C).
B. Using LTSpice, simulate the circuit shown in Fig. 3 and design a PCB for the same circuit
