Elon Musk, the intellectual South African entrepreneur that founded Space X and Tesla; who is he and

how did he start? This prodigy started at a very young age, as young as 12 years old when he wrote his
first game and sold it for $500 to mark his start point towards the top. At 17 he moved to Canada to
start University at Queen’s University in Ontario only to move to his original dream country USA when
he received a scholarship from the University of Pennsylvania earning his bachelors of science degree in
Physics.

Just 2 days after starting a new journey at the prestigious Stanford University he decided to drop out to
start his first major success in this world Zip2. Keeping in mind that at that time Elon Musk already
established his top 3 priorities that would have the most impact on the modern world: the internet,
space travel and renewable energy. At 1999 the company that aimed at bringing newspapers to the
online platform “Zip2” was sold for more than $300 Million. Only after acquiring such amounts of cash
that Elon Musk started sniping opportunities in the payment industry starting his “X.com”, or as it
currently known as “PayPal”; a company that was sold to eBay for $1.5 Billion.

In 2002, Elon Musk started working on another priority he had on his list, after investing $70 Million of
his personal money in the world renowned “Tesla Motors”. A journey that wasn’t very smooth as of
2008, the first Tesla car “The Roadster” had colossal issues with its production, selling and management,
Elon stepped in; firing almost everyone related to this project including its co-founder Martin Eberhard
and naming himself as the CEO of “Tesla Motors”. After investing an extra $55 Million, and then selling
his beloved McLaren F1 and his last $20 Million dollars saving it from bankruptcy, the company now,
named “Tesla Inc.” generated in the 3rd quarter on 2018 a $6.8 Billion in revenue and $311 Million in
profit, the highest ever number recorded by a company in a quarter.

This tech-giant’s story, that started when he arrived at Canada; 17-year-old with $2,000, a backpack and
a suitcase full of books, according to his own 2018 tweet; managed to pay his way through his college
years and suffered from a $110,000 debt after dropping out from his study in Stanford University. This
master-mind managed to set an example to the young generation and the generations to come, on the
importance of dedication and innovation to the life of our planet earth as a whole not only on the
personal level with money and prestige, but for the well-being of earth as a planet. Finally, I would like
to conclude with a personal favorite quote by this genius that I believe would have the ability to
represent his lifestyle of success, failure and innovation “ I think that's the single best piece of advice:
constantly think about how you could be doing things better and questioning yourself.”
