how to play a musical instrument, some of those positive results could be statistical learning,
language acquisition and abstract reasoning skills. Additionally, playing music also can have
amazing psychological benefits such as perseverance, disciple and responsibility. So far
playing a musical instrument could make you happier and smarter according to several
studies. However, it is true that kids should have some meaningful engagement in the class
to be really benefited.

As we mentioned before, music can help develop many positive aspects while growing or even
as an adult. Notwithstanding it is not only about being sit in a music class, it needs to be about
being actively engaged in the music and participate in the class to fully reap the cognitive
benefits. Many children are in music classes but they are not motivated so that he or she may
not be getting all the benefits of those classes anyway. On the contrary, those who not only
attended music classes, but also actively participated showed improvements in how the brain
processes speech and reading scores.

With this in mind, is it true that there is connection between learning to play a musical
instrument and statistical learning? Two groups of 25 children aged 9-11 participated in the
study. One group was made up of students who had undertaken private music lessons for at
last 18 months, while the other group of 25 had not had any private music lessons. Well,
undoubtedly there are a lot of gains for the brain even as little as a year-and-a-half of music
