over any vocabulary the students may not know. The
teachers will then present the powerpoint. After
going over the powerpoint, the teachers will ask if
there are any further questions.

Statement of Learning

- The students will be able to learn about the history,


education, and other background information about
Brazil.
DURING:

- The teachers will present a powerpoint. As the


teachers are presenting the powerpoint, the students
will follow along and fill out the worksheet about
Brazil. After the presentation is over, the teachers
will go over the answers with the students. First, the
students will be split into two teams. The students
will then play a game of jeopardy, which will review
concepts in the powerpoint. Each jeopardy category
will represent a slide from the powerpoint.

Checking for Understanding

- After the lesson, the teachers and the students will


go over the worksheet handed out to them prior to
the lesson presentation. The students are supposed
to fill this out as the lesson goes along to ensure
understanding.

AFTER:

Closure

- The students will take out a piece of paper and write


down two things they learned about Brazil before
leaving the room after the lesson.
Formative - We will be assessing the students’ prior knowledge
Assessment/ first by doing the “Truth or Myth” activity. The
Assessment assessing will be done by having the students hold
their thumb up or down.
- We will be assessing during our lesson explanation by
having a worksheet that they have to complete while
they follow along us on our powerpoint. After the
lesson is over, we will be going over the answers and
collecting the worksheet.
- After our lesson, we will be playing a game of
jeopardy where we will split the class into two teams
and ask them questions based off of the lesson.
