ANNUAL ELEMENTARY ALL CITY-MUSIC FESTIVAL 2017-18
Dear Parents,
Greetings! Your child has been selected to represent his or her school at the Jackson Public
Schools 41 Annual Elementary All-City Music Festival. The Festival will be held Thursday,
February 22, 2018, 6:30 p.m. at Cardozo Middle School, located at 3180 McDowell Road Extension.
To prepare for our Festival performance, all participants will attend the following scheduled
‘REHEARSAL AND FESTIVAL ATTIRE
The Festival rehearsal attire will be: School uniforms or school T-shirt and Navy blue or Khaki
‘Pants.
‘The FESTIVAL PERFORMANCE attire will be:
BOYS: White, button-down long-sleeve shirts, black pants [no Jeans], dark shoes [no tennis],
and belts. Red bow-ties will be provided but MUST BE RETURNED TO YOUR CHILD'S MUSIC
‘TEACHER!
GIRLS: White button-down blouses, black skirts, black tights, dark shoes [no tennis]. RED
BOWS FOR THE GIRLS BLOUSES WILL BE PROVIDED, BUT MUST BE RETURNED TO YOUR
CHILD'S MUSIC TEACHER!

2017-2018 ELEMENTARY ALL-CITY MUSIC FESTIVAL
Dear Parents,
Congratulations! Your child, has been
selected for the dance portion of the Jackson Public Schools District Elementary
AllLCity Music Festival, The festival will be held Thursday, February 22, 2018, 6:30
p.m., at Cardozo Middle School. We want all facets of the festival to be excellent.
Therefore, an additional rehearsal has been planned for the dancers. All festival
participants will rehearse the mornings of February 21 and 224 (JPS will provide
transportation these two days only). However, the additional rehearsal for dancers is
scheduled for:
Date: Tuesday, February 20, 2018
Time: 8:30 a.m, - 1:30 p.m.
Place: Walton Elementary School Auditorium
[3200 Bailey Avenue, Ja¢kson, MS 39213]
Parents will be responsible for providing transportation to Walton Elementary School.
Parental assistance is needed during the rehearsal, so please stay and lend a hand if
you can. While your child is learning the dance routines, he/she will learn self-
discipline, group cooperation, problem solving, goal setting, self-expression, memory
skills, concentration, poise, high self-esteem, and the importance of teamwork. Your
child will be dancing while the Elementary All-City Festival choir is singing. Lunch
will be provided at the dance rehearsal by the school’s cafeteria. Arrangements for
your child/children who will be eating lunch at Walton will be made in advance
through your child’s music teacher.
Dancers are asked to wear black pants, black socks, dark shoes, and a long sleeve
pullover white shirt [No Buttons] for the performance night of the Festival. If
your child has permission to participate, please complete and return the bottom of
this page to your child’s music teacher by Monday, January 22, 2018. If you are
unable to arrange transportation for Tuesday, February 20, 2018 [8:30 a.m. - 1:30
p.m,] or if additional information is desired, please feel free to contact your school’s
music teacher to discuss other arrangements for your child to be transported. Thank
