Dear students,

The dataset “Assignment1” has 14 many variables. You are asked to use them to answer the
question1 to question 6:

Question 1 [5 marks]

For each variable, verify if the type and the measurement level are corrected. If not, adjust them
accordingly.

Question 2 [15+5 marks].

Consider the following variables: variable 2 (Region), Variable 3 (Age), Variable 4 (Gender), Variable
5(Preparedness), Variable 6 (Clarity), Variable 13 (Salary), and Variable 14 (Marital_status). For each
categorical variable, produce appropriate charts and interpret them. For each continuous random
variable, produce the FIVE number summary and interpret them.

Produce and interpret a table to compare marital status by region

Question 4[5 marks]

Recode the variable Age into a new variable called Age_Cat using the following specifications: Young
adults (ages 25-35), middle adults (ages 36-55), older adults (aged older than 55 years).

Question 5 [5 marks]

Produce and interpret a Boxplot to compare the medians of salary of respondents per Age-Cat
variable.

Question 6 [5 marks]

Produce and interpret a Boxplot to compare the medians of age per sex.

1. The assignment must done in groups, each group should have a maximum of five students.
2. One of the objectives of this assignment is the use of SPSS package. Thus, you are required
to use it in answering all your questions. The use of any other package is not allowed!
3. Submit the output file for verification of the results. If the output file is not submitted, your
assignment will not be marked. The output file submission may be done via email
4. The assignment should be in report format and submit a hard copy
