Introduction

The Delsys Trigno Wireless Foundation System is the best base package to
build a flexible EMG system for wireless physiological measurement needs in
movement science. Wireless Electromyography system or Wireless EMG systems and
wearable sensor devices are freely record and measure electrical activity produced
by muscles, using wireless EMG sensors. Wireless EMG isi very useful for a wide
range of applications within exercise physiology. The ADInstruments wireless
solutions are ideal for recording muscle tissue contractions and electrical muscle
activity in your subjects, especially when range of movement and comfort are
important. Applications for wireless electrodes include track and field and
gymnastics, but wireless EMG solutions are also ideal for ‘on the spot’ applications,
or when small, difficult to isolate muscles are being assessed. Whether studying
motor control for patient rehabilitation or muscle performance, activity, and fatigue
in elite athletes, the ADInstruments offers streamlined wireless systems that let
record and measure elctrical muscle activity simply and easily.

Through the study of the three journals, the research found that in EMG result
is more be are positive when activation of the uppers right and left rectus abdominal
muscles appears to the best achieved. According to Gloria M.Beim, et al in 2011,
compared electromyographic (EMG) activity of the abdominal muscles between the
crunch exercise and five other popular abdominal exercises. The results indicate
that the crunch exercise is comparable to the five other abdominal exercises with
respect to muscle activation of the internal and external abdominal oblique muscles.
Activation of the upper rectus abdominal muscles appears to be best achieved with
the Abflex machine, whereas the crunch exercise is superior to the sit-up for
activation of the upper and lower rectus abdominal muscles. EMG activity was
recorded during execution of the abdominal crunch, the sit-up, and exercises
performed with the Abflex machine, the AbRoller, the Nordic Track Ab Works, and
the Nautilus crunch machine.
The next journal was explained about compare the effects of sit-up and ab
crunch exercises on muscular activity of the rectus abdominal. A pairs of surface
electrodes were placed unilaterally on four quadrants of the rectus abdominal, in ten
male subjects and electromyographic (EMG) recordings were taken while the
subjects performed sit-up and ab crunch exercises. Statistical Analysis ANOVA on the
EMG activity demonstrated significant differences between the sit up and ab
crunches as well as in the four different quadrants. Further the t-test on different
quadrants during the two exercises revealed that there were significant differences
in epigastria and hypogastria during sit-up and ab crunch ( Ikram Hussain, 2008 ).

According to Sullivan. W. et al in 2015 the purpose of study was to determine

differences in abdominal and hip flexor muscle activation and trunk and hip
kinematics between the traditional U.S. Maximum EMG of the RF and EO and mean
EMG and iEMG of the RF were greater during the traditional situp. In contrast, mean
EMG and iEMG of the RA and EO were greater during the modified sit-up. Peak trunk
flexion was greater during the modified sit-up, and peak hip flexion was greater
during the traditional sit-up. The greater RF EMG activity and peak hip flexion during
the traditional sit-up suggest a greater emphasis on hip flexion during this sit-up
style, which may result in lumbar hyperextension. The greater RA and EO activity and
peak trunk flexion during the modified situp suggest a greater emphasis on trunk
flexion during this exercise, which may decrease the lumbar spine load. Therefore,
the modified sit-up may be a better exercise selection to train the abdominal
muscles.
