Why Did Satan Cite the Psalms?

By Dr. Nicholas J. Schaser December 7, 2018

In Matthew 4:1-11 (// Lk 4:1-13), the devil tempts Jesus in the wilderness.

 The Messiah responds to the devil’s temptations with three

references to Deuteronomy (cf. Deut 6:13, 16; 8:3; Matt 4:4, 7,
10),
 Satan chooses to cite from Psalm 91: “He will command his angels
concerning you and on their hands they will bear you up, lest you
strike your foot against a stone” (Ps 91:11-12).
 That Satan, the ruler of demons, refers to this particular text is ironic,
since Psalm 91 was almost universally understood in the ancient
Jewish world as a prayer against demonic forces!

In the original Hebrew, Psalm 91 reminds the reader not to fear violent enemies
or agricultural disasters: “You shall not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow
that flies by day, nor the pestilence (‫ ;דֶ בֶ ר‬dever) that stalks in the darkness, or
of the destruction (‫ ;יָׁשּוד‬yashud) that wastes at noon” (Ps 91:5-6).

Hundreds of years after this Hebrew psalm was first penned—but also
hundreds of years before Jesus—the Jews who translated these verses
into Greek saw a reference to the demonic: “You shall not be afraid of the
terror by night nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of
the thing (πράγματος; pragmatos) that walks in darkness… and
the demon (δαιμονίον; daimonion) at noon.” (Ps 90:5-6 LXX).

Lest we think that the translator of the Septuagint was playing fast and loose
with the Hebrew here, the Greek actually reflects a valid way of reading the
original language: depending on which vowel points are appended to the
Hebrew letters (these vowel points, or “nikkud,” were not included in the
ancient Hebrew text that the Greek translators used), the words could read
“pestilence” (‫ ;דֶ בֶֶר‬dever) and “destruction” (‫ ;ׁשּוד‬shud) or “thing” (‫ ;דָ בָ ר‬davar)
and “demon” (‫ ;ׁשֵׁ ד‬shed) – the Greek translator decided on the latter
meanings, “thing” and “demon.”

Then, hundreds of years after the Septuagint, the Aramaic translators of the
Hebrew Bible (around the 4th century CE/AD) followed Greek-speaking Jews and
found references to demons all over Psalm 91: “You will not be afraid of the
terror of the demon (‫ ;מזיק‬maziq) that goes about in the night… nor of the
company of demons (‫ ;ׁשידין‬shedin) that destroy at noon…. No evil shall befall
you, and no plague or demons (‫ ;מזיקיא‬maziqaya) shall come near your tent, for
he will command his angels concerning you.” (Psalms Targum 91:5-6, 10-11).

 Thus, the devil’s decision to cite Psalm 91 during Jesus’

temptation is the worst possible choice to make, since first-
century Jews would have known that Psalm 91 was a prayer
that guarded against demons; of all the scriptural possibilities,
Satan chooses a passage that was meant to drive him
away! T
his comedy of satanic errors would have elicited a hearty laugh
from Matthew’s original readers, and it shows that, according to
Evangelist, the devil is a bit of a dunce!

Oral Law: The biggest stone of stumbling to understand Yeshua s

Message.
Mat 5:17-18 Think not that I am come to
destroy the law, or the prophets: I am
not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For
verily I say unto you, Till heaven and
earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in
no wise pass from the law, till all be
fulfilled.

Lots of evangelical christian teachers

say: "This does not apply for christians
today. The Law of Moses was
abolished, we are not under it. Yeshua
(Jesus) broke a lot of laws from the OT
and told people to break them." This is
totally false.

Yeshua did not broke the Moses of

Law; he went against the "traditions of
the elders" or "traditions of men" that
the Pharisees practice (Mat 15:1-
9; Mark 7:1-23; Isaiah 29:13). Josephus
(37 100 A.D.,a 1st-century Romano-
Jewish historian who recorded Jewish
history) said "regulations handed down by former generations and not recorded in the Laws of
Moses" (Josephus, Antiq. XIII. x. 6). Yeshua condemned it as a "burden" that was impossible for
men to carry (Mat 23:4).

The "Oral Torah" includes the legal and interpretative traditions of the Torah, not the actual Law.
According to tradition, Moses and the Israelites received an oral as well as the written Torah.
These interpretations were passed down orally through the ages, and later were codified and
written in the Talmud, the Mishnah and Midrash. The Oral Torah is a clarification of the Written
Torah and a guide on how to live the Law. For example, the Written Torah says not to work on
Shabbat; the Oral Torah lists which activities are considered work.Remember, the Talmud, the
Mishnah and Midrash are interesting books, but they are not the Torah, so You don't have to
obey any of them.

Lets see some examples of Oral Law that seemed to be the Law of Moses, but its not.

Luk 6:1-4 "And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the
corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.
And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the
sabbath days? And Yeshua answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what
David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him; How he went into the
house of YHVH, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him;
which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?"

There is nothing in the Torah about this. Yeshua is accused of violating a Pharasaic
interpretation of what constituted "work" in the Sabbath.

Mat 15:1-6 "Then came to Yeshua scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem,
saying,Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands
when they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the
commandment of YHVH by your tradition? For YHVH commanded, saying, Honour thy father
and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. But ye say, Whosoever
shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift (Corban), by whatsoever thou mightest be
profited by me; And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made
the commandment of YHVH of none effect by your tradition."

Again, there is not a violation of any Torahs Law. Yeshua points out that they are guilty of
violating the Law in the case of honoring father and mother, instead they accused him of going
against their interpretations of the Torah.

Mat 23:16-22 "Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple,
it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor! Ye fools and
blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold? And, Whosoever
shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is
guilty. Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon. And whoso
shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein. And he that shall
swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of YHVH, and by him that sitteth thereon."

The Law says to take an oath only by the name of YHVH, but never in vain (Exod 20:7;Lev
19:12). To avoid going against the law and taking in vain the name of YHVH , Jews took a oath
by sacred objects. This constitute a deliberate interpretation of the Law.

These many laws created by the interpretations of man, became traditions as as such heavy
burdens that they can never comply with:
Mat 23:4 "For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on mens
shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers".

And even Paul was against the Oral Law:

Acts 15:10 "Now therefore why tempt ye YHVH, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples,
which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?"

Gal 5:1 "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith the Messiah hath made us free, and be not
entangled again with the yoke of bondage."

1Tim 6:1 "Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all
honour, that the name of YHVH and his doctrine be not blasphemed."

Through out the N.T. there are a lot of this examples of Oral Law being misundestood as
Torahs Law by evangelical christians everywhere even Messianic Jews, a heavy stone of
stumbling (1 Pe 2:8), that has bring confusion in people regarding the Law of Elohim and its
place in modern evangelical christianity:

The wearing of phylacteries and tassels (Matt 23:5), Frequent fastings (Matt 9:14), The
observance of ritual purity (Mark 7:l),The tithing of herbs (Matt 23:23; Luke 11:42)

Mat 12:9-14; 15:14; 16:5-12; 23:4-5,8-12,15-22,24-28,31-33

Mark 3:1-6; 7:15; 8:14-21; 12:37-40; 15.11

Luke 6:6-11; 11:39-44,46-52; 12:1; 13:10-17; 14:1-6; 16:14-15; 20:45-47

John 5:1-18; 7:16-24; 8:4-11; 9:1-34 and many more.

Another stumbled block for christin understanding of the Torahs Laws has been the
inadequate translation of the Hebrew word torah in the Greek Septuagint as nomos, "law.". So
now many people do not see the differences between Law of YHVH and the Oral Law and many
say that they are imposible to keep in the first place.

The first believers kept certain parts of it but they never saw it as equal to the Law.

1Pe 2:8 "And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the
word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed."

YHWH's (God's) Laws in Detail

New
These are Biblical laws called commandments (mitzvot) and collectively call the "Law of Moses" (Torah),
"Mosaic Law", or simply "the Law". Rabbi Simlai in Talmud Makkot 23b was the first to number the 613
commandments.

These commandments are still in effect for all Hebrew Roots Christians who believe in Elohim and its
Hebraic Roots since the Law of Moses was never abolished by Yeshua.

The 613 mitzvot are divided into three categories:

1.Mishpatim: commandments that are logical and make sense, such as not killing or not stealing.

2.Eidus: commandment of testimonies in Judaism. Example, the Shabbath testifies to the fact that
Hashem created the world in six days and rested on the seventh day and declared it holy.

3.Chukim: Commandments that defy all reason and logic.

Many of the mitzvot cannot be observed now, because of the destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem
and of the Redemption of Yeshua, He is now our Priest in the Holy Temple of Heaven: ( Hebrews 7:21-
22; 24-25; 27; 8:1-2 ). 26 Commands apply only within the Land of Israel.

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me. And he that loveth me shall
be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.John 14:21

If a man love me, he will keep my words, and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and
make our abode with him.John 14:23

He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings.John 14:24

You are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you.John 15:14.

So, understand the teachings of Yeshua , and live them out in your life. Remembered Written on human
hearts (Heb. 8:10); rooted in faith (Gal. 3:24; Rom. 3:22; 5:1-2; 1 John 3:23) and permanent (2 Cor. 3:11;
Rom. 5:9-11).

Yeshua affirmed we have to comply with to the commandment given in Matthew 23:

THE COMMANDMENTS TO OBEY THE TORAH

Mat 23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their
works: for they say, and do not

Here He is talking about the Law of Moses found in the Torah: the Commandments of Elohim that the
Almighty was gointo to write in our heart (Heb 8:10). Also express by Paul in:

2Co 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of the Messiah ministered by us,
written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living Elohim; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of
the hear

THE GOLDEN RULE

"Treat Others As You Would Like To Be Treated." (Based on Matthew 7:12, restated in Luke 6:31)

"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is
the law and the prophets." (Matthew 7:12 KJV)

But He also said...

OTHER COMMANDMENTS OF YESHUA

1. "FORGIVE EVERYBODY OF ALL THEIR OFFENSES AGAINST YOU." (Forgive, and be forgiven.) As you
forgive other people, Elohim will forgive you.

"And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors." (Matthew 6:12 KJV)

"And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which in heaven
may forgive you your trespasses.

"But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses." (Mark
11:25-26 KJV)

2. "YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN."

Being "born again" means casting off the spirit of the flesh and taking on the Spirit of Elohim , the Holy
Spirit, Who is given by the grace of Elohim to those who believe in Yeshua as the only-begotten Son of
Elohim , risen from the dead.

"Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." (John 3:7 KJV)

3. "ABIDE IN ME, AND LET ME ABIDE IN YOU."

When you accept Yeshua as your personal Lord and Saviour, His Holy Spirit moves into your heart. He
actually lives in you, and you live in Him.

"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more
can ye, except ye abide in me." (John 15:4 KJV)

4. "LET PEOPLE SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS." (Do not hide your light under a basket.)

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see see your good works, and glorify your Father
which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16 KJV; see also Matthew 5:15)

5. "END DISPUTES QUICKLY."

"Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary
deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison."
(Matthew 5:25 KJV)

6. "WHATEVER CAUSES YOU TO SIN, GET RID OF IT."

"And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one
of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

"And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of
thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell." (Matthew 5:29-30
KJV)

7. "DO NOT SWEAR OATHS AT ALL."

"But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is Elohim 's throne:

"Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

"Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

"But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil."
(Matthew 5:34-37 KJV)

8. "DO NOT RETURN OFFENSE FOR OFFENSE." (Turn the other cheek.) "Ye have heard that it hath been
said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

"But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to
him the other also." (Matthew 5:38-39 KJV)

9. "GIVE WHAT PEOPLE ASK OF YOU, AND GIVE MORE THAN IS REQUIRED." (Go the extra mile.)

"And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.

"And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

"Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away." (Matthew
5:40-42 KJV)
10. "LOVE YOUR ENEMIES AND THOSE WHO WORK AGAINST YOU."

"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and
pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

"That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil
and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." (Matthew 5:43-45 KJV)

11. "GIVE TO THE POOR TO PLEASE Elohim , NOT TO GAIN APPROVAL FROM OTHER PEOPLE."

"Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of
your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 6:1 KJV)

12. "PRAY PRIVATELY AND SIMPLY, NOT TO IMPRESS OTHER PEOPLE."

"And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the
synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They
have their reward.

"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy
Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

"But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard
for their much speaking." (Matthew 6:5-7 KJV)

13. "MAKE YOUR PRAYERS BE LIKE THE LORD'S PRAYER."

After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done in earth,

As it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

As we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom,

And the power,

And the glory,

For ever.

Amen. (Matthew 6:9-15 KJV)

14. "WHEN YOU FAST, DO IT SECRETLY, NOT FOR SHOW."

"Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces,
that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward." (Matthew 6:16)

15. "STORE UP YOUR TREASURES IN HEAVEN, NOT ON EARTH."

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves
break through and steal:

"But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where
thieves do not break through nor steal:

"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." (Matthew 6:19-21)

16. "DO NOT WORRY ABOUT YOUR MATERIAL NEEDS."

"Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet
for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

"Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your
heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?" (Matthew 6:25-26 KJV)

17. "DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THE FUTURE."

"Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.
Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." (Matthew 6:34 KJV)

18. "MAKE Elohim YOUR HIGHEST PRIORITY, AND HE WILL TAKE CARE OF ALL YOUR NEEDS."

"But seek ye first the kingdom of Elohim , and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto
you." (Matthew 6:33 KJV)

19. "DO NOT JUDGE OTHER PEOPLE." (Judge not, lest ye be judged.)

"Judge not, that ye be not judged.

"For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be
measured to you again." (Matthew 7:1-2 KJV)

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin
among you, let him first cast a stone at her. (John 8:7 KJV)

20. "DO NOT GIVE HOLY THINGS TO DOGS OR CAST YOUR PEARLS BEFORE SWINE."

"Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample
them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." (Matthew 7:6 KJV)

21. "ASK Elohim FOR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO HAVE." (Seek, and ye shall find.)

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:"
(Matthew 7:7 KJV)

22. "FEED THE HUNGRY, CLOTHE THE NAKED, SHELTER THE HOMELESS, COMFORT THOSE IN DISTRESS."

"Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the
kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

"For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and
ye took me in:
"Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
(Matthew 25:34-36 KJV)

23. "FOLLOW THE NARROW PATH TO LIFE." (Enter by the narrow gate.)

The wide gate is the gate you simply stumble through, when you are not paying attention.

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and
many there be which go in thereat:

"Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."
(Matthew 7:13-14 KJV)

24. "BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS."

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening
wolves." (Matthew 7:15 KJV)

25. "EXERCISE POWER OVER UNCLEAN SPIRITS."

"And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to
cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease." (Matthew 10:1 KJV)

"Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give."
(Matthew 10:8 KJV)

26. "LOVE LITTLE CHILDREN, DO NOT DESPISE THEM."

"Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do
always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 18:10 KJV)

27. "DO NOT TAKE THE TITLES 'MASTER' OR 'FATHER' FOR YOURSELF."

"But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

"And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
"Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

"But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

"And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted."
(Matthew 23:8-12 KJV)

28. "RESOLVE DISPUTES IN AN ORDERLY WAY, LIKE THIS "

"Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him
alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

"But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three
witnesses every word may be established.

"And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him
be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican." (Matthew 18:15-17 KJV)

29. "DO NOT OPPOSE OTHER BELIEVERS IN CHRIST WHO ARE NOT IN YOUR GROUP."

"And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth
not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.

"But Yeshua said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can
lightly speak evil of me.

"For he that is not against us is on our part." (Mark 9:38-40 KJV)

30. "HAVE TOTAL FAITH IN ELOHIM FOR EVERYTHING."

"And Yeshua answering saith unto them, Have faith in Elohim .

"For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou
cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall
come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them,
and ye shall have them." (Mark 11:22-24 KJV)

31. "BE LIKE THE GOOD SAMARITAN." (Go, and do likewise.)

"Then Yeshua said unto him, Go, and do thou likewise." (Luke 10:37b KJV)

This was in reference to the Parable Of The Good Samaritan, who helped and took care of a man who
had been attacked by robbers. (See Luke 10:30-35)

32. "LOVE OTHER PEOPLE AS I HAVE LOVED YOU"

"This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." (John 15:12 KJV)

33. "EAT BREAD AND DRINK WINE IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME."

"And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is
given for you: do this in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the
new testament in my blood, which is shed for you." (Luke 22:19-20 KJV)

34. "WASH ONE ANOTHER'S FEET."

The full meaning of this dramatic command is for us to care for each other's needs as if they were our
own. He also wants us literally to wash each other's feet.

"If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet."
(John 13:14 KJV)

35. "BE MERCIFUL."

"Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful." (Luke 6:36 KJV)

" . . . for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil." (Luke 6:35b KJV)

36. "GO AND TEACH ALL NATIONS, BAPTIZING THEM."

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of
the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am
with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20 KJV)

37. "KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS."

"If you love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15 KJV)

38. "BE PREPARED FOR YOUR MASTER TO RETURN."

"Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not." (Luke 12:40 KJV)

--------------------------0------------------------

Should we give worship, honor and glory to Yeshua (Jesus) like we do

to YHWH (God)?
YHWH said:

"For my own sake, even for my own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted?
and I will not give my glory to another!"(Isaiah 48:11)

Elohim (Elohim) takes all glory to himself, He does not share it, for He is the creator and the
savior of mankind, and He deserves al worship, honor and glory:

"Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your Elohim will come with
vengeance, even Elohim with a recompense; he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the
blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man
leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out,
and streams in the desert." (Isaiah 35:4-6)

Should we give worship, honor and glory to Yeshua, His son, the same as the father deserves
it? What does Torah teaches about it:

"And again, when he brings in the first-begotten into the world, he said, And let all the angels of
Elohim worship him (Yeshua)." (Hebrews 1:6)

"But to the Son he said, Your throne, O Elohim, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness
is the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore
Elohim, even your Elohim, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows. And,
You, Lord, in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works
of your hands" (Hebrews 1:8-10)

And many other passages affirm the relevance of Yeshua like:

"Father, I will that they also, whom you have given me, be with me where I am; that they may
behold my glory, which you have given me: for you loved me before the foundation of the
world." (John 17:24)

"Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath,
but said also that Elohim was his Father, making himself equal with Elohim. Then answered
Jesus and said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what
he sees the Father do: for what things soever he does, these also does the Son likewise. For as
the Father raises up the dead, and vivifies them; even so the Son vivifies whom he will. For the
Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son: That all men should honor
the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honors not the Son honors not the Father which
has sent him. Truly, truly, I say to you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent
me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death to life.
Truly, truly, I say to you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of
the Son of Elohim: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father has life in himself; so has he
given to the Son to have life in himself; And has given him authority to execute judgment also,
because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are
in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, to the
resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation." (John 5:18-
29)

"And now, O Father, glorify you me with your own self with the glory which I had with you before
the world was. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which you have given me;
for they are yours. And all my are yours, and your are mine; and I am glorified in them.." (John
17:5,9-10)

"Why Elohim also has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Yeshua every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth,
and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Yeshua Ha Mashiaj is
Lord, to the glory of Eohim the Father."(Philippians 2:9-11)

In each of this verses Yeshua is to receive honor, worship and glory, as YHWH receives ir. But
Yeshua is more than a profet, a normal man or any of us, He is according to Issaiah 35:4-6,
Elohim himself, who came into the world to save us. Yeshua has the keys of heaven and death,
He is the Written Torah: Yeshua and Elohim are one and the same. This is easy to understand
through this following verses:

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, said the Lord, which is, and which was,
and which is to come, the Almighty." (Revelation 1:8)

"And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand on me, saying to me,
Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for
ever more, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death."(Revelation 1:17-18)

"Then said the Jews to him, You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham? Jesus
said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I am." (John 8:57-58)
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim...
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelled among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of
the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."(John 1:1, 14)

"Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Yeshua came, who is over
all, Elohim blessed for ever. Amen." (Romans 9:5)

"For in him dwells all the fullness of the Elohimhead bodily."(Colossians 2:9)

"For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell" (Colossians 1:19)

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great Elohim and our Savior
Yeshua Hamashiaj" (Titus 2:13)

Yes, Yeshua deserves all worship, honor and glory for He is YHWH, the living Torah.
