Essential Question:
Summarizing Strategy:
After all of the students have completed their Venn
Diagrams, they will share them with their small groups to
see what the similarities and differences are amongst their
peers. This will allow the students to check their work and
talk more about how they compared and contrasted the
two characters. After the small groups share, students will
be invited to share what was on their Venn diagram and
we will add it to the one on the board. Venn Diagrams if
they want to. Wrapping up I will ask the students what
they enjoyed about the story and what they learned from
comparing and contrasting the two. I will also ask them if
they think they could use these skills to compare and
contrast characters in other stories.
