Self - Publishing consent Agreement

This Self-Publishing consent Agreement (the “Agreement”), is by and between Swipe pages
publication media (OPC) private limited and the ("Us", "we" or “Our”) and the individual author
named below (“You,” “Your”).

You desire to hire Us to provide certain creative, publishing, marketing, distribution, and
promotional services (the "Services"), with the objective of publishing, selling and/or
distributing a book, in print, digital, video, and/or audio format (the “Work”). The specific
Services purchased by you throughout the Term of this Agreement will be set forth in one
or more separate "Service Orders," each of which will be subject to the provisions of this
Agreement.

In consideration of the mutual promises and agreements set forth in this Agreement, You
and We (“the Parties”) agree as follows:

Terms & Conditions

Term: This Agreement will continue in effect from the date it is first signed by you, whether
electronically or by hand (“Effective Date”), until terminated. Certain provisions will remain in
effect after the termination of this Agreement.

The author is submitting the manuscript or poem to anthology or book in his/her own will to
swipe pages for the purpose of pre-press activities, like editing, designing, printing,
distribution and promotional services.

Additional services are only available on additional payment (add on charge).

The co - author of the book or his /her nominated family member will be the copyright
holder of the book.

The anthology book cannot be printed and distributed by two different companies in the
same language and the same country at the same time. The author can however withdraw
the book from swipe pages at any time, if the book is selected for publication by any
conventional publisher; or for other reasons. There will be no fee for doing this; however he
must inform swipe pages by email, so that Swipe pages stops selling and enlisting this
book. There will be no refund made from swipe pages for the author withdrawing a book or
withholding publication.
Swipe pages take no responsibility of the content of the book.

The views expressed in the book are solely those of the author and the printer & distributor
Swipe pages have nothing to do with the ownership of the content.
The printer and distributor will not be a party with the author if any lawsuit arises from the
content of the book. Swipe pages may withdraw the book if any lawsuit / legal proceedings
happen regarding the content of the book or for other reasons.

If any lawsuit arises from the book and Swipe is by any chance made a part of it, the author
will pay the legal expenses, fines, compensation if any applicable on Swipe pages.
The author assures that he/she owns the right/copyright of all the images and photos used
inside the book. No image can be used for which the author does not own the copyright.

The author assures that this work is original and not exactly the same as any other literature
written by someone else, ruling out the possibilities of any copyright issues with other
authors. In case the book or contributing writings is found to be plagiarized, or copied,
Swipe will have the right to withdraw the book from circulation with no refund.

Swipe pages will not be a party of any lawsuit arising, if any, for anyone challenging the use
of copyrighted photo/image in the book, and Swipe pages may withdraw the book if any
such lawsuit / legal proceedings happen about the use of copyrighted image/photo.

The author assures that his/her book is not among the following 5 categories of books
swipe pages will not encourage and does not print and distribute.

Swipe pages will not be responsible for Plagiarized, or copied books. If the submitted
manuscript has copied content, copy-pasted from other books, websites, blogs, etc; even if
parts of it; it does not qualify as an original work.

Swipe pages publish only original works. If the manuscript has copied content, those
portions will have to be removed or rewritten in original words.

Swipe runs Copyscape test for each book to check for plagiarism, and books with copied
content get disqualified for publication.

We swipe pages not allows Pornographic or obscene books.

We at swipe pages will strictly do not allow books propagating the ideology of terrorist
groups, anti-government in content or against the interest of the nation.

Strictly we don't allow books containing personal attacks, allegations or hatred towards
real person(s), organization(s) or communities, books containing legal case histories &
solicitations of past, presently continuing or planned future litigation with real person(s),
organization(s) or communities.

We do not provide services to books that postulate, propagate or promote superstition and
superstitious thinking, like astrology books, books on palmistry, feng shui, black magic,
horoscopes, numerology, Vastu Shastra and other forms of magic remedies.

The book will be available through Swipe pages publication website anytime for buyers, as
long as it is with swipe pages. Buyers will be able to buy online, by making NEFT/credit/debit
card/net banking payment or by cheque payment.

No changes are possible once the book is entered into production and in press. Ad on
charges are applied after that only change are however possible in the next printed
version/edition, after the ready stock of her/his books get sold and completed.

If the author-approved version which is going to the press and published in digital medium
has mistakes, the mistakes will be there in the printed version, digital version, and Swipe
pages will not be responsible for those; that is why it is recommended that the author checks
the final print-ready version carefully before approving for publishing. If the author wants
changes in the book after it is published, additional “book revision charges” are payable.

The author can suggest changes to the inside of the book before it is sent for publishing;
or one round of changes is permissible. Requests for further changes after the 1st
request are chargeable. In each round the author can send a complete list of changes he/
she wants.
One round of minor changes is allowed on the cover design and the cover design is
made from the suggestions sent initially by the author. If the author dismisses the cover
design and asks for a completely new design from a new idea after presentation of the
1st draft design, it will be treated as a new cover and cover design charges are
chargeable.

Since this is self-publishing, the author is the “publisher‟ of this book. Swipe pages will act
as the pre-press agent, printer, distributor, service provider and PR agency for this book.
This may be mentioned in the title page (4th page) of the book.

The author can also separately promote and advertise the book to build awareness and
increase sales.

The author can sell movie rights for this book to any filmmaker or movie producer at any
time after having taken permission of Swipe pages. Swipe pages will have no say in this
matter.

The author can get this book translated in any other language and publish translated version
of this book in the same country after seeking permission of Swipe pages.

This "anthology book" is a one-time offer and the offer for young writers and cannot be
applied again for the same book or new book. The publishing and distribution of the book
is included with swipe pages.

GST at the rate of 18% is chargeable extra on all publishing packages and services, as
per Government of India rules.

If the book is in form of print, shipping or postage charges will be applied on delivery of
books ordered. Shipping charges differ from outlet to outlet.

For "Anthology book" Swipe pages will not pay “royalty‟ to the author, which is a
percentage of the MRP (maximum retail price, or printed price) of the book, multiplied by
the actual sales figures. Swipes pages will not be responsible. If no books are sold, no
royalty becomes due to the author and the sale is purely based on content of the book.
The author agrees on all conditions mentioned and that MRP / printed retail price of the book will
be decided by Swipe pages considering multiple factors like the number of pages, size of the
book, color pages if any, type of binding, no. of images or illustrations used, additional cover
decoration, popularity of subject, etc.

Swipe pages decision in this regard will be reasonable, at par with the country’s standards and
final. No request to modify or alter the maximum retail price can be made, or will be entertained.

Photos of the author, the book cover and any events related to the book, or its launch, scans
/ photos of newspaper reviews, articles related to the book can be used by Swipe pages for
advertisement campaigns in newspapers, Facebook, or on the website of swipe pages.

The author hereby don’t have any objections on this anthology book and release of book by
Swipe pages with their writings.

Swipe pages will maintain confidentiality of the manuscript, till it is published and distributed by
swipe pages, and avoid misuse of the manuscript.

Force Majeure. We will not be liable or responsible to You, nor be deemed to have defaulted
under or breached this Agreement, for any failure or delay in fulfilling or performing any term
of this Agreement when and to the extent such failure or delay is caused by or results from
any reasonably unforeseeable act or circumstance beyond Our reasonable control, including,
but not limited to, any acts of God, war, terrorism, labor conditions, fire, flood, storms, third
party acts or governmental action , or restraints or delays affecting Our Contractors‟ ability to
enable us to timely fulfill services.

Disputes arising if any, can be resolved by mails and phone calls or by arbitration. If these
efforts fail, all legal actions are subject to jurisdictions of courts of Chennai, India.

I HAVE READ, I UNDERSTAND, AND I AGREE TO THE TERMS SET FORTH IN THIS
SELF-PUBLISHING CONSENT AGREEMENT:
