Kinds of Stretching Exercises

Ballistic stretching
It uses the momentum of a moving body or a limb in an attempt to force it beyond its normal
range of motion.

Examples of Ballistic Stretching:

Side Arm Swing Overhead Arm Swing

Wrists Rotation Shoulder Rotation

Forward Leg Swing


Static Stretching
It is the most common form of stretching found in general fitness and is considered safe
and effective for improving overall flexibility.

Examples of Static Stretching:

Neck Stretching Triceps Stretching

Back of Thigh Stretching Front of Thigh Stretching

Achilles Streching
Dynamic Stretch
It is a movement-based type of stretching. It uses the muscles themselves to bring
about a stretch.

Examples of Dynamic Stretching:

Front to Back leg swing Lunge with Twist stretching
