It is highly estimated that a large number of Americans are living with some form of dementia.

Nurses need ways which help to promote inter-professionalism in the care of patients with

dementia. Music Therapy involves the use of different kinds of music to accomplish

communication goals which are individualized within a therapeutic relationship by a certified

professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. These interventions are

designed to promote stress management, alleviate pain, improve memory, improve

communication, and provide opportunities for interaction among specific groups of people.

This research will aim to find evidence that determine whether music improve the emotional

well-being and quality of life of people with dementia, looking at their emotional, behavioral

social or cognitively changes.
