Organization of the Thesis

In Chapter 1 and 2, the biological and technological principles of a microarray

experiment as well as the motivation of the microarray technology are introduced.

In Chapter 3, the literature review of the stages of microarray image analysis along
with the drawbacks of the existing methods of the analysis stages are discussed.

In chapter 4, proposed models for automatic gridding of noisy microarray images

namely ( as in conference paper and journal paper)
In chapter 5, two models proposed for automatic segmentation of noisy microarray
images ( as in conference paper and journal paper)
In chapter 6, Result analysis
Chapter 7 concludes the thesis with suggestions for further research. Also the
contributions of this research work are highlighted in this chapter.
