Davide Astori

Davide Astori was an Italian professional footballer who played as central defender.
On 4th march 2018,Astori died in his bed while staying in a hotel in Udine before the
match Fiorentina vs Udinese, it is proven that the death has been caused by cardiac
arrest. It was determined from an autopsy conducted two days later. A club statement
said "Fiorenina is profound shaken and forced to announce that their capitan Davide
Astori has died. All "Serie A" and "Serie B" matches scheduled on 4th March were
postponed. His death has caused a schock across football world, and many coaches
and players paid their respects. UEFA later announced on Twitter that a minute of
silence had to be observed before every European match scheduled for that week. In
his honour Cagliari and Fiorentina both retired the number 13 T-shirt worn by Astori.
Fiorentina's successive match against Benevento was paused for 60 seconds at the
13th minute in his honour, too while children from both teams entered wearing
Astori's t-shirt to pay tribute to him.
