tools in preparing the land thoroughly. Clear the area of trash from previous crops.

-Weeds and trash must be buried well under the soil in advance. This will afford better decomposition of
organic matter in the soil. Apply compost or stable manure if they are available. This is usually done
before plowing. These manures should be thoroughly mixed during plow.
