 Dear parishioners and visitors,
Receiving Holy Communion is the zenith and
proclamation of the Catholic Faith. A Catholic
is to approach the Lord prepared and worthy to
receive him. Here are several points to keep in
mind:
+ The person must be Catholic and in the state of
grace. If one has committed mortal sin, the per-
son is not to receive Holy Communion until the
one has gone to confession;
+ As you approach to receive and you are going to
bow or genuflect, please do so behind the person
ahead of you who is receiving. Please be ready to
receive having the hands cupped or mouth open
with hands folded. If one merely wants a bless-
ing, please cross one’s arms and place across the
chest;
+ When the invitation is made by the celebrant,
deacon, or extraordinary ministers of Holy Com-
munion stating “The Body of Christ”, please re-
spond saying “Amen” before receiving. One is
make a statement of belief when you say that one,
simple word. The one distributing the Holy Eu-
charist needs to hear you make your faith-
response.
In doing these steps, you are preparing worthy to
receive the Lord. It helps all those who assist to
know you are making a profession in what you
believe as a Catholic and the real presence of the
Lord in Holy Communion.

Announcement
Please give to the 2019 Diocesan Annual Appeal
if you have not done so. The parish family needs
the support of all parishioners to reach our target
amount of $59,310.00. As of November 12th, we
are at 53.90% of our goal in pledges. If we do
not reach this amount, the balance has to be paid
anyway with money from the general account
which is designated to pay bills.

BOX TOP UPDATE…....I just submitted another
box of .10 cent labels totaling $255.30 for Prairie
Catholic Schools. MANY THANKS to all the pa-
rishioners and students for sending them in both at
school and in the big blue boxes at the churches.
There was $60. in labels between the churches so
many thanks. This brings our total to over $25,000
since the program began in 1996. FYI - CAMP-
BELLS SOUP LABELS AND MILK MOOLA have
discontinued so please don’t submit any more of
their labels.
