ANGELIKA

by:Angelika Andal

She is a wild flower

Sitting alone along the river

No one makes her feel wanted

Asking why she even sprouted

She envies how the birds fly

and touch the beautiful sky

She envies how the fish jumps with glee

and the leaves that float in peace

She incurs the storm's wrath

Shiver from the icy rain drops

Endured enigmatic exclusion

and cries as lotus taunted her

Wild flower whimpered in distress

When a butterfly came in

An elixir of happiness he bring

To flee and sweep the weak smile off her face

Butterfly was like a pedagogue

He taught her to smile not to woe

Pay no heed all he say

Let bird squeak its beak until it break

Poof!The sound of change

A curve on its lips resuscitate

Now she stood straight and vibrant

Someday they will sigh and envy
