The first thing you should know about
Malaysians is they are passionate
about food. Malaysia has inherited a
vast array of cuisines from its melting

Nasi Lemak
Nasi lemak,

cucumber, and peanuts are pretty

RELIGIONS

nikah (solemnization ceremony). The
highlight of the wedding is
the bersanding (sitting-in-state
ceremony), which is followed by a
feast for family and friends.
Pakaian is the term for clothing in
the Malay language. NATIONAL SPORTS
Since Malaysia comprises three
major cultures: Malay, Chinese and
Indian, each culture has its own
traditional and religious articles of
clothing all of which are gender
specific and may be adapted to local
influences and conditions.
The national sport of Malaysia is
known as Sepak Takraw. It is a game
in which the participants must kick
the ball commonly known as takraw
ball over the net. A takraw ball is a
hollow ball made from woven palm
stems or rattan. This sport is more or
less the same as volley or badminton
except that players in this game don’t
use their hands to kick the ball.
