The world has now become a place where pollution through the land, air, and water is very

high, many
of it is deliberately and other is because of lack of awareness.
Plastic is one of the forms of major pollution, it's not biodegradable and takes almost 1000 years to
break down into smaller pieces. As a responsible fellow human beings, it’s our prime responsibility to
protect our environment. This can be achieved by 4R technique (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover).
Our main objective is to eliminate the source which stops using plastic products if it cannot be met
substitute /reduce plastic with a different material which can disintegrate faster and less effect on the
environment. Another method is by applying engineering controls whereby segregating the waste
products and recycling it.
One must see that by stopping the use of the plastic product the demand will decrease, which will lead
to less production and less wastage.
Other ways are banning the plastic products which will take time to disintegrate for eg. using less
micron plastic products, for this, there has to be strict law and the government has to monitor the
implementation.
Other simple techniques a person or a family can follow is
1. stop buying plastic products, like plastic cups, bags, bottles, etc instead use reusable products,
reusable water bottles etc.
2. Avoid buying food wrapper ’s, frozen foods due to plastic coatings.
3. Buy boxes instead of bottles.
4. Daily consumable materials can be replaced with the reusable product.
5. While buying household items use reusable paper bags.
