“ANALYSIS OF SKILL GAP FOR MBA STUDENTS:


MANAGERIAL PERSPECTIVE FROM CORPORATE
INDUSTRY”

Purpose- The purpose of this paper is to identify the gap between skills expected by the
managers and skills possessed by MBA students employed by corporate industry.
Design/Methodology/ Approach- A Questionnaire based survey would be conducted with
HR managers of corporate industry under whom fresh MBA graduates are working. They
would be asked to rate the MBA graduates on described 12 employability skills working
under them in the industry.
Practical Implication- The study will make MBA graduates clear in what skills they need
to learn and how it will relate to the expectations of employer in corporate industry. It will
also help MBA schools or institutions to revise and improve curriculum of some
specialized management programs according to the needs of industry.
Originality/ value- The study will investigate the skills required by corporate industry out
of MBA graduates. It will also identify the skill gaps for fresh graduates from managerial
perspective in corporate industry of India.
