QlMHRD Internship Scheme - 2019 Ministry of Human Resource Development (Government of India), Department of Higher Education has introduced an Internship Scheme, called “ MHRD Internship Scheme- 2019", for indian nationals/ OC! card holders pursuing Graduation/ Integrated PG studies in a recognized Universities/institutions within India or abroad. Students who are completing their Graduation/ integrated PG programme in Nov/Dec 2019 can also apply for internship starting from NoviDec 2019 (but these students cannot apply for internship starting in the next cycle of April/ May 2020). This programme is not open to PG or bigher level students. 1.1. The interns would be expected to supplement the process of policy analysis within the Ministry through desirable empirical collection and collation of in-house and other information. 2. Objectives of the Scheme a) To allow young students, who are most important among stakeholders, to be associated with the Ministry in formulation of policies, implementation of projects and various initiatives in Education Sector for mutual benefits. b): The interns may benefit by getting exposure to Government functioning and Policy issues in Human Resource Development in Government of india and contribute to Policy formulation by generating policy inputs such an empirical analysis, briefing, reports, policy papers, etc. ©) Ministry may benefit from the additional resources in the form of young talent and their news ideas may add to the policy formulation base. Note: It is neither a job nor any assurance for any job in Ministry of HRD or any institution/body under its control. 3. Eligibility: ~ Following-category of persons are eligible to apply- a) The applicant should be a citizen of India or OCI card holder. ») She/he should be pursuing Graduation’ (integrated UG/PG programme) in Education, Social Sciences, Science, Humanities, Management, Engineering, ICT, Law from any recognized University/Institution within India or abroad,°) d) Higher Education ‘Technical Education including IITs, liMs, Apex Bodies, Research ‘School Education & entary Education _ Literacy Secondary Education Students pursuing three/four year programme should have’ at least completed two years (four semesters) of course and those pursuing five year integrated programme should have completed three years (six semesters). Students who are completing their Graduation/ integrated PG programme in Nov/Dec 2019 can also apply for internship starting from Nov/Dec 2019 (but these students cannot apply for internship starting in the next cycle of April/ May 2020). There shall be 2 induction of internship (a) During Nov Dec (b) During April-May (b) Number of Interns- A maximum of 15 slots shall be available for offer to internship. (c) Stipend - Token stipend @ Rs. 10,000 (Rupees Ten Thousand only) per ‘month shall be paid to an intern after successful completion of internship. (d) Certificate - —_—A certificate shall bg issued to an intern on successful completion of his/her internship by respective bureau on the basis of recommendation of the concerned Bureau Head. : (e)-Logistics ~ Interns shall be provided with a minimum support ie. office space with intercom telephone, Internet and stationery items. They will have to bring their own laptops. (Attachment, - Interns shall be attached in different Bureaus of the-Ministry taking, “. into account, as'far as possible; the domain/area of interest expressed by them. However, in certain ‘cases, it may not be possible to attach them as per their choice. In such cases, decision of MHRD shall be final. Bureau Head concerned will allocate the exact topic for study in domain area of interest. (g) Submission of report - "Intern shall be required to submit a brief paper/report at the end of their assignment to the concerned Bureau Head about their learning experience. (h) Declaration of Secrecy - Internship shall be required to furnish to the Ministry a declaration of secrecy before the commencement of the internship. (i) Termination of Internship ~ _ Ministry may instruct an intern to terminate the programme at any time, as Ministry deems fit, without assigning any reason. Ministry's decision shall be final in this regard. Also, an intern can also leave the programme, is she/he so desired, giving prior notice of seven (07) working days to the concerned Bureau Head.
