Section Essay:
This is the third essay in the series of four for the semester. Use your chosen semester theme to
develop an element of American expansion into Texas. For this assignment you will also be
required to use an article from one of the following sources:

American history journals found in JSTOR - I suggest articles in either Southwest

Historical Quarterly or Western Historical Quarterly.

These can be retrieved online through the library. The article cannot be a book review, it needs
to be an analytical research article. You should also reference the assigned reading. Once again
your essay should be in the range of 600 words or 2 to 3 pages.
