NAKED EGG DROP COMPETITION:

Objective: Using the concept of Impulse, Momentum and Collisions, create an egg catcher that will
protect an egg from cracking or breaking from a high fall.

Materials:

 1 sheet of newspaper
 10 popsicle sticks

Note:

 Only the materials stated above can be used to make an egg catcher.
 The catcher must stand alone (no person can hold the catcher during the trial)
 The yarn will be used as spotter to aid in dropping the egg straight to the catcher.
 A scotch tape can be used ONLY to attach the popsicle stick and newspaper.
 Only 3 trials are allowed.
 2 points for every violation will be deducted to the total grade

Rubrics for Grading:

 1st trial without breaking the egg - 100%

 2nd trial without breaking the egg – 95%
 3rd trial without breaking the egg – 90%
 3rd trial with little crack on the egg – 85%
 All eggs were cracked but the catcher is still standing – 80%
