Francisco Santiago
(1889-1947)
On January 29, 1889, Francisco Santiago,
the Father of Kundiman Art Song, was born to
musically-minded peasant parents, Felipe
Santiago and Maria Santiago, in Santa Maria,
Bulacan.Poverty did not stop him from
pursuing his studies in piano. He became a
piano instructor in 1916 when the University of
the Philippines Conservatory of Music was
established during the same year.Notably,
Santiago's most famous piece, "Kundiman
(Anak-Dalita)," was sung upon the request of
King Alfonso XIII before the Royal Court of
Spain in 1917.His other compositions include:
"Sakali Man," "Hibikng Filipinas," "Pakiusap,"
"AngPag-ibig," "Suyuan," "Alaala Kita," "Ikaw at
Ako," "Ano Kaya angKapalaran?", "HatolHari
Kaya?", "Sakali'tMamatay," "Dalit ngPag-ibig,"
"AkingBituin," "MadalingAraw" and
"PagsikatngAraw."
My Reflection:
 Francisco Santiago, He is a famous person who sung
in the popular song in the Philippines. His song
appreciation of Philippine culture. And inspiration
every people and have dedicated to his/ours country.
 Freddie Aguilar is the most popular person,I inspired
him because of his popular song “Anak”. In his song
anak was showing the importance of parents and
child.

Ferdinand Pascual Aguilar (born February 5, 1953),
better known as Freddie Aguilar or Ka Freddie Aguilar, is
a folk musician from the Philippines. He is best known
for his rendition of "Bayan Ko", which became the
anthem for the opposition to the Marcos regime during
the 1986 People Power Revolution, and for his song
"Anak", the best-selling Philippine music record of all
time. He is heavily associated with Pinoyrock.He is well
known internationally, and within the Philippines and
Asia-Pacific region, claiming fame as one of the best
musician-songwriters of the Philippines.reddie Aguilar's
musical beginnings started when he was young. At the
age of 14, he wrote songs. When he was 17-years-old,
Aguilar played his first guitar. By the time he was 20-
years-old, Freddie Aguilar performed on stage for the
first time.
Freddie Aguilar studied Electrical Engineering at De
Guzman Institute of Technology but did not finish the
degree program. Instead he pursued music, became a
street musician, and then a folk club and bar musician.
At the age of 18, Aguilar parted ways with his family and
quit college. After realizing and regretting his mistakes
five years later, he composed the song "Anak".
