Introduction:

IPG Photonics is a manufacturer of fiber lasers IPG Photonics developed and

commercialized optical fiber lasers, which are used in a variety of applications
including materials processing, medical applications and telecommunications IPG has
manufacturing facilities in the United States, Germany, Russia and Italy.
IPG Photonics is revolutionizing welding! The LDD-700, on display at their booth, offers
unmatched real-time multi-factor laser welding quality assurance that can be used to
increase quality and throughput across countless industries and welding applications. As
compared with traditional sectioning, the LDD-700 provides non-destructive
measurements without the associated time and cost of traditional sectioning.
Measurements can be taken before welding occurs to prevent bad welds from being made
or measurements can be taken during the weld if cycle time is the priority. Every
measurement is expressed in calibrated units, which means that results are comparable
between different shifts, lines, suppliers, months and factories globally.

History:

 IPG was founded in 1990 in Russia by physicist Valentin Gapontsev.

 In 1998, IPG established the IPG Photonics Corporation headquartered in Oxford,
Massachusetts.
 Between 2002 and 2003, IPG developed multi-kW industrial class fiber lasers.
 The company had its initial public offering in 2006 and is now listed on
the NASDAQ stock exchange.

Objectives:

 The system has been designed to make smart manufacturing even smarter, and
even more flexible.
 LDD-700 alerts operators and systems to take corrective action ensuring that
normal operations resume quickly and only good parts are sent to customers.
 LDD-700 enables manufacturers to reduce scrap and facilitates early detection of
defective sub-assemblies by providing more complete and accurate records for
safety-critical applications.
 This system is critical to lowering the total cost of manufacturing and ownership
of EVs for the general public.
 To pass information rapidly through laser fiber across the Globe by providing fiber
beams for many others purposes too like fiber laser cutting which helps in
industrial purposes and in machinery works.
 IPG Company’s main purpose is to satisfy its customers and to meet the needs of
the consumer.

Features:

 This system is critical to lowering the total cost of manufacturing and ownership
of EVs for the general public.
 These new fiber lasers are available for requalifying in existing lamp pumped
processes at IPG's application facilities in Oxford, MA, Santa Clara, CA, Detroit,
MI, Brumbach, Germany and IPG's applications labs in China, Japan, Korea and
Italy.
 The CW mode of operation with power up to 500 watts allows fast cutting and
makes these lasers a universal tool.

Stock-Market Analysis:

 By 2000, IPG was a $52 million company. Its customers included Alcatel,
Fujitsu, Lucent, Siemens, and Marconi (Realtec). During this time, IPG started
developing its multi-kilowatt diode-pumped fiber lasers.
 By 2006, IPG opened its stock as first IPO (Initial Public Opening) and entered
the Stock Market.
 The all-time high IPG Photonics stock closing price was 263.34 on January 23,
2018.
 The IPG Photonics 52-week low stock price is 104.64, which is 25.7% below the
current share price.
 The average IPG Photonics stock price for the last 52 weeks is 139.22.
