Self- Analysis

1. What were my strengths and weaknesses in this unit?

My one of my strengths in this unit was that I was able to
connect with every student in almost every lesson. I do
know that this will not be able to happen every single day. I
think another one of my strengths in this was my planning
and creating lessons for my students that were meaningful
and tailored to their strengths and interests. My weakness in
this unit was definitely management during my guided
reading lesson. I do realize though that they do not know
how to read, and they were not used to me doing that center
with me. I think another weakness of mine during this unit
was my pacing. I could have given students more think
time during my lessons.
2. Were students able to grasp my Big Idea?
Since my big idea was based of my students and their want
to be independent, I think they were able to grasp it very
well. I was intentional about how much work required them
to be independent and problem solve by themselves.
3. How could I improve this unit for the future?
I think in the future I would improve this unit by
integrating all the curricular areas. Another way I could
improve this unit is by creating more opportunities for
students do work on their own.
