Kacy Steiger, ‘An excellent start with the resume and letter of application. In revision, simply edit the letter carefully and check the order of importance within your bulleted lists on the resume. I suggest you retain the name of your supervisor but omit the second reference to your classmate. Do not use abbreviations in the letter like “tech” but rather write out the full word. In you list of certifications, the sentence becomes very clipped. | suggest you rewrite with transitions. On the resume, check the order of importance within your lists (most to least). You begin each list item with a verb until you get to “I worked.” Be consistent. Edit visually to remove any orphans (one word lines). Consider adding Adobe applications like InDesign to your list. I was stressed with this project, mostly by the fact that 1 hadn’t updated my resume since 2017 which is never good. Times change what information is important, revilement and necessary, Professionally, what is looked for in a strong resume also changes with time, So much had changed and what I viewed as important then didn’t highlight my skills as potently. It was time to get to work and sell myself for that interview I started this project by crafting a creative, graphically appealing resume but was halted in my tracks when I shared my progress with my father (who has been employed in the same company for 25 years, so may not be the best judge but still holds sway) told me it was too much, That if he was an employer, he would probably pass it over for being too much visually and not clean cut enough for a professional setting, So, I did my research. I played with the mixing of type fonts, employing a mix of serif and san serif to draw the eye. I even researched with fonts where considered best for resume creation and went with Cambria and Helvetica (on your opinion, would Calabria body work better?). 1 played around with paragraph description verses bullet points which one out on the fact alone they are quicker to the point. Wanting to keep something a litle creative intact, I thought that instead of the traditional name and basic contact info I could put into a ‘graphic’ bar. The color isn’t in your face, instead a soft sage green that coupled with my name captures readers attention and draw the eyes down into the meat of the material. For the sake of getting everything on the page, I did create a custom margin and played with font size, making sure though that nothing was below a 10pt. font.
