The first view that Hell references is the religious varient. Hell is usually
something associated with eternal punishment or at least lack of positivity.
Another view of Hell is the more everyday varient - simply something unpleasant.
However, the book varient of Hell is neither of these things - it is quite pleasant
and the only safe place for Ellie and her friends.

#1: I believe the novel is titled in such a manner since it is a retelling of the
past but the main story is far from over and will go into the future.

#2: Homer was enthusiastic and agreed immediately. Lee, however, was more
suspicious but decided that the trip would be more enjoyable than his other plans.

#3: She was afraid of scaring everyone else and ruining the trip.

#4: It was natural because every group makes somebody into its leader. Ellie's
character was good for the position of leader due to her courage, confidence and
loyalty.

#5: No, I wouldn't endanger a large group of people for a single animal.

#6: I think this transformation occured because he realised that his actions and
decisions had begun to matter.

#7: I think it makes it more realistic. In real life, there is a split pretty close
to 50/50 between religious and non-religious people.

#8: I would say yes. Through his inaction, he was endangering the entire group.

#9: Yes. At the very end of the book he surrenders himself in going to the hospital
with the injured Corrie, which is very brave.
