Dealing with social media bullying

A Social Media are computer mediated interactive technologies that promote information,
ideas, career interest and other forms of expression through digital communities and
networks to be developed and shared. Social Media is common because it helps people to
manage their daily activities and achieve them. It also part of people’s routine and is an
essential way to communicate others, shop, find things to do and check the news. Examples
of Social Media are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Viber and We Chat. I choose
the topic of bullying because we know there are so many stories of bullying in this age.
There are so many suicide incidents that become now one of the sources of bullying.
Mostly; The Millennial shows a slow down in the time spent on social media. This trend
point is looking for real-life experiences and greater interaction with digital brands, instead
of passive scrolling. In other words, everyone uses Social Media in daily. Some people
have been confused about differences between bullying and cyber bullying. Bullying
involves acts including bullying, spreading rumors, physically or verbally, assaulting
others, and intentionally excluding someone from a group. While cyber bullying involves
sending, publishing, or sharing negative, damaging inaccurate or mean material about other
people. It may include sharing personal or private information about someone else that
causes embarrassment or humiliation some cyber bullying crosses the line into conduct that
is illegal or unacceptable. It may through SMS, text, and apps or online through social
media, forums or gaming where people can view, interact, or share content. But no matter
what version bullying takes the outcomes can be the same for the person being bullies,
excessive distress and pain.
Example of cyber bullying is when you just post your opinion about what you're
going to say about this generation, but some people might misunderstand your
opinion and get upsets then they’re going to judge you in all aspect even they don’t
really known who you are. Another example is when you send a picture that’s too
exposed of your body or what to your friends and then you find out that those friends
are insecure to you, of course you’re to get upset and you’ll confront them about that
problem/issue. They are also angry, of course, but that upset is perhaps the result or
guilt or denial. For communities that are sufficiently advanced
to have the ability to communicate with other people online, cyber
bullying is a problem that can not be easily fixed.
Cyber bullying can affect anyone, but in today's youth it is most prominent.
Unless we can regulate this awful behavior early in their age.
This is not an easy task, unfortunately. It will require schools, and parents in
particular, to be aware of and act on the problem. When the government recognizes
the issue of cyber bullying, regulations may be placed in place to help prevent this
activity. Even now parents and schools should reduce this activity and stop it, then
there should be no need for rules. So schools and parents, be mindful of what
children do on the internet and their devices, and treat if they do something they
shouldn't be doing.
