In today’s lesson, we will be talking about x- and y-intercepts. A x-intercept is a point where the
graph either crosses or touches the x-axis. You can have one or multiple x-intercepts. All x-
intercepts are written in the form of (x,0), where x is the point along the x-axis that the graph
crosses or touches the x-axis. You can find the x-intercept by substituting 0 in for y, and solving
for the x value. A y-intercept is a point where the graph crosses or touches the y-axis. All y-
intercepts are written in the form of (0,y), where y is the point along the y-axis that the graph
crosses or touches the y-axis. You can find the y-intercept by substituting 0 in for x, and solving
for the y value.
