LORNA LAPATIS

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:

I am Lorna Lapatis, of legal age, with address at Block 16, Lot

30, Judicial Street, Violago Homes, Batasan Hills, Quezon City. I
state under oath as follows:

PRELIMINARY STATEMENT

The person examining me is Atty. Juanito Lim, with office

address at Unit No. 2417, Entrata Urban Complex, Filinvest City,
Civic Drive, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. The examination was held
at the same address on 02 June 2017. Questions were propounded
by the said counsel in Tagalog, which I fully understand while the
ANSWERS were given/made by me in Tagalog which is herein
translated by counsel to English. I am answering his questions fully
conscious that I do so under oath and may face criminal liability for
false testimony or perjury.

PURPOSE: This Judicial Affidavit of the witness is executed

to serve as her direct testimony. The Judicial Affidavit is offered to
prove: (1) The circumstances surrounding the Parties’ marriage; (2)
The behavioral manifestations of the personality disorders of the
Petitioner and Respondent, and (3) For other purposes material and
relevant to the Petition.

Q1: Please state your name and other personal

circumstances.

A1: I am Lorna Lapatis, of legal age, Filipino, married, and is
presently residing in Block 16, Lot 30, Judicial Street,
Violago Homes, Batasan Hills, Quezon City.
(Ako ay sis Lorna Lapatis, wastong gulang, may-asawa, at
naninirahan sa Block 16, Lot 30, Judicial Street, Violago
Homes, Batasan Hills, Quezon City.)

Q2: Are you familiar with the present Petition?

(Pamilyar ka ba sa kasong ito?)
A2: Yes sir.
(Oo sir.)

Q3: Why are you familiar with the present Petition?

(Bakit ka pamilyar sa kasong ito?)
A3: I am familiar with this Petition because I am the sister-in-law
of Petitioner William C. Lapatis, Jr,
(Ako ay pamilyar sa kasong ito dahil hipag ako ng Petitioner
na si William C. Lapatis, Jr.)

Q4: How did you know Respondent Genalyn C. Lapatis?

(Paano mo nakilala si Respondent Genalyn C. Lapatis?
A4: I met Genalyn (after she and William got married) at the
house of William’s mother. I then learned that she is the wife
of William.
(Nakilala ko si Genalyn (noong sila (William and Genalyn) ay
kasal na) sabahay ng nanay ni William. Doon ko nalaman
siya ay ang asawa ni William.)

Q5: Where did you live at that time?

(Saan ka nakatira noong panahon na iyon?)
A5: Next door to the house of my mother-in-law (William’s
mother.)

Q6: At said time, where did Petitioner and Respondent

live?
(Noong panahon na iyon, saan nakatira sina William
at Genalyn?)
A6: They lived in the house of my mother-in-law.
(Sila ay nakatira sa biyenan ko.)

Q7: Since you live next door, what did you notice, if any,
about the relationship of William and Genalyn?
(Dahil magkalapit lang kayo ng bahay, ano ang
napansin mo, kung meron man, tungkol sa relasyon
nila William at Genalyn?)
A7: I noticed that they were always quarreling even on the
pettiest things. Everytime William will come home from
work, Genalyn will always start a fight with William.
(Napapansin ko na lagi silang nag-aaway kahit sa maliit na
bagay lamang. Kadalasan pag-uwi ni William galing trabaho
ay lagi nalang mag-uumpisa ng away si Genalyn.

Q8: What were they fighting about?

(Ano ang pinag-aawayan nila?)
A8: They always fight about money. Genalyn demanded
excessive amount of money from William and she will get
mad at him if he was not able to give it to her, even though
William earns only a meager amount. Genalyn always
berates William saying that he is not giving her enough
money.
(Kadalasang pinag-aawayan nila ay tungkol sa pera. Lagi
humihingi ng malaking halaga si Genalyn at magagalit siya
kay William kapag hindi niya naibigay ang hinihingi niyang
halaga, kahit na maliit lang naman ang kinikita ni William.
Laging minamaliit ni Genalyn si William at sinasabing hindi
sapat ang binibigay ni William na pera sa kanya.)

Q9: With regards to Genalyn, what do you notice about

her?
(Ano ang napapansin mo kay Genalyn?)
A9: Genalyn is always secretive towards her husband about
her text messages and calls. She will not allow him to
read her messages and she will not answer when asked who
she is talking to over the phone. Oftentimes, when Genalyn

answers some calls, she will leave and answer the call in
private. Genalyn will always get furious at William when he
asks who she is talking to, and will tell him to mind his own
business.
(Nililihim ni Genalyn sa kanyang asawa ang mga text
messages at tawag na natatatanggap niya. Hindi
pinapayagan ni Genalyn na basahin ni William ang mga text
messages niya at hindi niya sinasabi kay William kung sino
ang tumawag sa kanya kapag nagtatanong si William.
Kadalasan kapag sinsagot ni Genalyn ang tawag sa telepono,
lalayo siya at pribadong sasagutin niya. Kadalasan kapag
natatanong ni William kung sino ang kausap niya, galit na
galit si Genalyn at sinasabihan niya si William na wala
siyang pakialam.)

Q10: During most of their fights, how does Genalyn react?

(Sa mga away nila, paano ang reaksyon ni Genalyn?)
A10: I observed that Genalyn loses her temper easily and would
shout invectives towards William. She would scream, and
oftentimes inflame William to fight back. It even came to a
point that Genalyn smashed plates on the floor and threw
glasses when she gets furious.
(Napapansin ko na madaling uminit ang ulo ni Genalyn at
minumura niya si William. Sinisigawan niya si William at
hinahamon na lumaban. Dumating sa punto na nagbabasag
si Genalyn ng plato at binabato ang mga baso kapag siya ay
nagagalit.)

Q11: How about William, how does he react?

(Si William, paano siya mag-react?)
A11: He just keeps quiet and would calmly ask her to stop.
William has always been a timid person and has soft voice
even when mad. He does not retaliate even when Genalyn
incite quarrels.
(Tumatahimik siya at masuyong pinapatahan si Genalyn.
Mahiyain na tao si William at malumanay ang kanyang boses
kahit na nagagalit. Hindi niya ginagantihan si Genalyn kahit
na magsisimula ng away si Genalyn.)

Q12: What then happened while William and Genalyn were

still cohabiting with each other?
(Noong magkasama pa sina William and Genalyn
bilang mag-asawa, ano ang nangyari?)

A12: William flew to Dubai and Genalyn was left together with
their daughter.
(Tumungo ng Dubai si William at naiwan si Genalyn kasama
ang kanilang anak na babae.)

Q13: What was Petitioner doing in Dubai?

(Ano ang ginagawa ni William sa Dubai?)
A13: He was working in a company there.
(Nagtra-trabaho siya sa isang kompanya doon.)

Q14: You said that Petitioner was working in Dubai, while

respondent, together with their child was left in the
Philippines. During such time, what did Respondent
do?
(Nabanggit mo na nagtrabaho si William sa Dubai at
naiwan si Genalyn kasama ang kanilang anak sa
Pilipinas, noong mga panahon na iyon, ano ang
ginagawa ni Genalyn?)
A14: William was sending Genalyn monthly support then
Genalyn decided to enroll in a caregiver course.
(Pinapadalhan ni William si Genalyn ng buwanang sustento
tapos nag-aral si Genalyn ng kursong “caregiver”.)

Q15: How did Genalyn fared in the caregiver course?

(Kamusta si Genalyn sa kanyang pag-aaral?)
A15: She was not able to finish her studies because she lost
interest.
(Hinde siya nakapagtapos dahil nawalan siya ng interes.)

Q16: While William was abroad, what did you notice about
Genalyn?
(Habang nasa ibang bansa si William, ano ang
napansin mo kay Genalyn?)
A16: There is an instance that Genalyn told William that she will
spend the night in her mother-in-law but most of the time,
she is nowhere to be found. There was another instance that
on the birthday of their daughter, Genalyn even introduced
her paramour to me as the new father of their daughter.
(May isang kaganapan na nagpaalam si Genalyn kay William
na doon siya matutulog sa kanyang biyenan pero kadalasan
ay hindi siya mahanap kung saan nagpunta. May isa din na
kaganapan na noong kaarawan ng anak nila, ipinakilala ni
Genalyn sa kanilang anak ang kanyang kalaguyo.)

Q17: Having spent a considerable time with Genalyn, what

are your impressions of her?
(Sa kadahilanan na matagal mo nang nakasama si
Genalyn, ano ang masasabi mo sa kanya?
A17: I observed that she is a coquettish, nagger, spendthrift, ill-
tempered and neglectful mother since she puts her interest
first before her child.
(Naobserbahan ko na siya ay may pagka-malandi;
mabunganga; magastos; mainitin ang ulo at mapag-
pabayang ina dahil inuuna niya ang pansariling interes niya
bago ang kanyang anak.)
