Nurse robotics aren’t able to provide holistic care to patients due to their nature

as machines, they aren’t able portray humanistic acts which is vital in the holistic care of
well-being of the patients.

When we say holistic well-being, we do not only consider the physical aspect, but
the emotional and psychological aspect as well. Robots only embody the physical. They
are incapable of responding to emotional and psychological needs. They are also
incapable of emulating human speech patterns in a meaningful way.

Since robots are programmed, they are only capable of doing what they are told.
They are not able to give a human response and are only able to react according to
programming. This is why robots are incapable of providing the same care a human
can.

Robots are possibly used as tools but only ever used as such. Even with the
most high tech robotics and state of the art programming and the most accurate tools,
humans are still needed for judgment or decision making. Thus robots are only used as
tools and not as replacements

If humans were able to create an artificial intelligence with the capacity to think
and feel like a human, it is in essence already the consciousness of a human. Thus it
would be unethical to create life and subject it to work.

Our side believes that nursing robotics would not be able to replace human
nurses in terms of functions. The idea of robotics is not about being lazy, rather it is a
question of the capability of robots to fully perform functions of a nurse.
