Marking characters on the rating plate are made in a manner that ensures the legibil-
ity and durability of the inscriptions for the period of service of the pump.
The pump serial number is marked intaglio by impact chiseling out on the dis-
charge nozzle flange. The place for application of the serial number is shown in
the drawings.
A pump rotor rotation indicator arrow is attached on the suction casing.
Assembly units and parts of the pump are marked as required in their drawings
Spare parts, tools and appurtenances, included in the scope of delivery, bear
marks (or identified with affixed tags) with drawing designation.
The tie bolts of the pump as well as ports of the suction and discharge nozzles are
provided with seals. :
Type, number of seals and places where they are to be affixed are specified in the
technical documentation.
Preservation and Packaging
Prior to proceed to packaging, all the bare (unpainted) rust-prone metallic parts
and assembly elements of the pump, spare parts, tools, appurtenances and acces-
sories have been preserved for the period of their transportation and storage ac-
cording to [OCT 9.014-78:
1) parts located inside the pump casing (except mechanical seals) and bear-
ings: as per variant of protection B3-1 (with slushing oil K-17 TOCT
10877-78), variant of internal packaging BY-9;
2) exposed bare (unpainted) machined surfaces of parts, which project out of
the pump casing, bearings and counter flange for suction nozzle: as per
variant of protection B3-4 (with gun grease according to [OCT 19537-83),
variant of internal packaging BY-4;spare parts supplied along with the pump (except O-rings of rubber and seal
rings of graphite): as per variant of protection B3-4 (with gun grease ac-
cording to TOCT 19537-83), variant of internal packaging BY-5,
) rubber rings are strewed with milled tale of grade TPIIB TOCT 19729-74,
variant of internal packaging BY-5;
‘tools and devices supplied along with the pump: as per variant of protection

kaging BY-4;

Holding the Motor Pump Unit For a Standby Duty
7.3.1 The pump unit is considered as a standby one, if after the last stopping neither
its assembly elements have been dismantled, nor the pipelines and valves have
been disjoined.
7.3.2 In case of holding the pump unit in the standby condition for a long perjod of
time it is necessary:
- to close all the valves, gate valves and cocks in the pipelines;
- to proceed to a trial start of the pump unit not less than once a fortnight.
While doing that, check the functioning of the instrumentation.
74 Placing the Motor Pump Unit Out of a Standby Duty
In order to carry out routine inspections, eventual repairs and elimination of re-
vealed defects, the pump unit shall be put out of standby.
For this,muqnase it is necessary”
to disconnect the motor from the mains;
- to close the gate-valves in the suction and delivery pipelines and in the mini-
mum flow discharge pipe;
- to close the valves and cocks for manometers;
to draw off handled product from the pump;
to remove instruments and detectors from the motor pump unit;
- to shoot troubles found during the operation;
- to open the bearings (if required) and to apply a thin coat of rust preventive
to the shaft journals;
- to give (if required) a thin coat of rust preventive compound to all the ma-
chined and unpainted surfaces.
