Balanced Diet

This is a diet consisting of all the nutrients in their correct proportions.

Malnutrition

This is a lack of a balance diet. Malnutrition can occur in two ways:

 Under nutrition

 Over nutrition

Under Nutrition – (Lack of Nutrients)

This is a form of malnutrition which occurs when there is a small amount of nutrients in the diet

or the nutrient (s) is/are not present in the diet at all. If prolonged on severe cases a deficiency

disease such as beriberi, rickets, and night blindness may develop.

Over Nutrition

This is another form of malnutrition. Which occurs when there is too much of one or all nutrients

in the diet. If this is allowed to continue disease such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart

attacks and strokes can occur.

Obesity is a condition where a person has exceeded their B.M.I. and is overweight.

Type 2 diabetes is caused from too much sugar in the diet and is a result of over nutrition. Here

is the pancreas which controls blood sugar is over worked and starts malfunction so much so that

the body starts accepting the insulin it makes. (This can lead to death)
