Dear Chris,

Congratulations and welcome to Wayne State University and your future as a Warrior.

For 150 years, WSU has proudly welcomed students like you to our vibrant Midtown
campus. Being part of our diverse community of scholars allows you to take advantage of
all the amazing opportunities unique to our urban research university. I know that you are
eager to get to know us and explore all that is happening on campus and in Detroit.

I'm sure you're excited to meet some of the other Warriors on campus as well as the new
students who will join you for Fall 2020 as freshmen in Exploratory Music . You'll be led
through your studies by nationally recognized faculty members who are committed to
your success.

You're likely aware that Wayne State University is also committed to helping make
college affordable for all students. Our records show that you are classified as an in-state
student for tuition purposes. You qualify for Wayne State's WSU Scholar Award, valued
at $2000 ($500 per year for up to four consecutive years of study at WSU). The Henry M.
Seldon Scholarship Trust will fund the first year of this award. To accept the terms and
conditions of your scholarship - and your offer of admission, if you haven't done so
already - please visit your application status portal at slate.wayne.edu/status. For
maximum funding consideration, you must complete the FAFSA at fafsa.gov using WSU's
code, 002329.

To reserve your space in the upcoming class, you must submit your enrollment deposit on
your admitted student portal at slate.wayne.edu/status. This should be completed no later
than May 1. You'll also want to register for First-Year Student Orientation, where you
will meet other incoming Warriors and create a schedule for your first semester of classes.
Registration for Orientation and an enrollment deposit payment link will be available on
your admitted student portal in January. Please note that New Student Orientation is
mandatory for all incoming freshmen.

As a fellow Warrior, it is my honor to be one of the first to welcome you to the Wayne
State community. Our campus is bright here in Detroit, just like your future and I can't
wait to see you here in the Fall. Go Warriors!
With Warrior pride,

Ericka M. Jackson
