Pagbilao National High School: The Untold Story

There was a man who is brave enough to stood for the right of the young generation which is education.
Many oppose and threaten him but none of them shatter him to pieces and he continues what his goals
are.

Way back 1983, there was a crisis of gasoline pricehike. Jeepney drivers rises the transportation fee.
Some regular students from poblacion areas stopped going to school due to the priceful fee on jeepneys.
The only schools back then were Talipan Natinal High School and Pagbilao Academy. Jimmy Zaporteza
got an idea to solve the crisis on dropped out students. He wanted to make a school for the students of
poblacion areas. He knows the feeling of being like the students. He was also came from a poor family so
he knew the possible answer. He mustered up the courage to be the voice of the students. He came all
the way to the government to ask permission on having an extension school for highschool within the
poblacion. An extension from Southern Politechnic. When he came back to Pagbilao, rushed to the
municipal's office to get an assitance but all of them refused except ex-counsilor Piñon and Dean
Secretary Evangelino Pornillosa. The three of them went to Intramuros and talked to the secretary if ever
they could give them permission to build an extension school of Southern Luzon Politechnic. The
secretary refused because the location where the extension was going to build is too far from the main
campus. And they checked the nearest Public highschool and it was QNAS located at Malicboy, Pagbilao.
Both of them agreed and the papers were processed and settled. The exact location of the extension is
near the Pagbilao Cementery which is the Demonatration site that the Municipality of Pagbilao owned.
The conduct a study and the results are according to their plans. But somehow the other part of the
municipal staffs was against to the idea of building the extension due to personal interests. Asec.
Gatchalian was the witness on how Jimmy Zaporteza fought for his ideals. The commotion lasted for two
months. Jimmy Zaporteza even said that he is willing to have a fight just to make sure that the school will
be built. At the end, the school was ready to be build. They cleared the area within the demonstration
site. Jimmy Zaporteza was elected as the Municipal Mayor. The classrooms need repairs as well as new
ones. He also caoture illegal loggers at Binhaan, Pagbilao. And he encountered a police who stole a
tabloid on the inventory without knowing that the item is listed. Jimmy Zaporteza suspended the police.
The police threatens Jimmy Zaporteza's life. He will be a cold corpse when he step at Binhaan again but
he is bot scared at all due to his passion and love to the school he built. Before he reign as the Municipal
Mayor, all of the confiscated lumbers were turned over to the school. And the story of a living legend is
already unfold. Pagbilao National High School is the fruit of his blood, tears, dedications and sacrifices.
