1. Oxidisable substance:
Sample: 100 ml of sample + 10 ml of sulphuric acid + 0.1 ml of 0.02 M potassium permanganate; boil.

Sample: 10 ml sample + 0.1 ml of 2M HCl + 0.1 ml of barium chloride solution.

Take 100ml sample water in conical flask, add 5ml of 5% potassium chromate
solution as indicator and titrate Vs 0.1M silver nitrate, to change the colour from
yellow to brown.
Eeach ml of 0.1M silver nitrate contain 0.00355gm of chloride.
4. Hardness
Take 100 ml of sample water in conocal flask + 20 ml Dil. Ammonia , add 1-2 ml Erichrome Black T, Titrate
against 0.02M EDTA
