TASTE AND TEXTURE ADJECTIVES

1. BITTER: Having a strong and often unpleasant taste.


Example: COFFEE, DARK CHOCOLATE (COCOA), bittergourd
2. SWEET/SUGARY: Enjoyable taste of sugar
3. SPICY: Having strong flavour from spices such as peppers
4. SAVORY: Belonging to the category that is salty or spicy rather than
sweet. FLAVORFUL
5. RICH/ CREAMY : Flavour which has a taste of butter, cream, or eggs in it.
6. SALTY: Tastes of salt
7. GREASY: Containing or covered with fat or oil
8. SOUR: Having a sharp taste like lemon
9. PIPING HOT: Very hot. CHILI
10. CRUNCHY: Firm and making a loud noise when it is eaten
11. BLAND: Boring, Tasteless, not interesting
12. MOIST: A little wet
13. DRY: Not wet
14. FILLING: Feeling of becoming full. Stomach is full
15. MUSHY: Food that is very soft
16. JUICY: Food that contains a lot of juice
17. BITE SIZED: Small enough to be eaten in one mouthful.
18. MARINATED: To put fish, meat, or vegetables in a mixture of oil, vinegar,
and spices before cooking, in order to flavor it
