Throughout my life, and my education I was taught about climate change and global

warming. Though the memory that is most prominent in my mind was the lesson in my 8th-grade

science class. My class was forced to watch a movie on climate change, and the predictions that

Bill Nye had for the world’s future. Walking out of that class I remember feeling traumatized by

the thought that the sun and the atmosphere was going to cook me alive. To be fair, I was not

very keen on the whole subject. I was terrified to think that I could die in such a brutal way when

I just wanted to die of old age. Then again I was angry at some of the kids in the back of the class

laughing the whole time. I just couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that some people don’t

believe in global warming when there is so much evidence to prove it. I remember looking at my

friend Savannah and she looked as shocked as I was. I kept thinking about how it would affect

my children when I get older. Would it be the downfall of future generations?

I think I will always remember that memory. That memory was kick-started on Tuesday

when I was watching the weather channel and they started announcing the warm temperatures

for September. While they were naming the temperatures I kept thinking of how warm it is, and

how I wish it would be those nice cool temperatures in fall. So while looking at my assignments

I saw the research question and thought of several things. Afterward, I made a list and narrowed

it down after reading the content page. I felt that this topic would help me to inform other people,

and give me a chance to better understand the topic myself. I want to learn more about the topic

and how to help inform future generations. Sometimes I think what if I wouldn’t have been

informed, or didn’t get any real perspective about it.

I feel worried about this topic, in a way that makes me want to help and inform others. I

want to know more about the effects of it, and the results it will have on our future generations.

Before digging deep within this topic I think it is a big issue, along with deforestation. I think

that the topic should be well known. I believe this topic is important, and up to date. I believe

that I will learn a lot more about this topic, and be satisfied with my results. I know a few ways

that global warming came about. I know that there are ways to slow down the process, but I

believe it is inevitable. I think there is still hope for the youth to learn more.

Lastly, I would still like to find out a little more about how it will affect people. I know a

thin layer of a massive pool of knowledge. I would like to find out the main source that is

causing global warming. I will start looking at scholarly articles in library databases. I will also

be looking at previous weather castings, and compare them to now. Research question:

1. How does global warming affect youth?

2. How do large industries impact global warming?
