Six Orangutans Released Back into Wild

Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Foundation in cooperation with Central Kalimantan Natural Resources
Conservation Office (BKSDA) and Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park (TNBBBR) authority released six
orangutans into the park.

The orangutans were released after having completed years of rehabilitation. They had to endure an
approximately 10-to 12-hour-long journey across both land and river to predetermined release points in
the TNBBBR forest.

The six orangutans comprise three males — Rosidin (aged 20), Tristan (16), and Borneo (1) — as well as
three females — Borneo’s mother Buntok (12), Paijah (15), and Danida (13).

Preserving wildlife in its natural forest habitat was a vital step in ensuring that conservation efforts were
successful in the long term, Agung Nugroho, the TNBBBR head, stated here on Thursday.

“We, at the TNBBBR Authority, along with the BOS Foundation are responsible for ensuring the safety
and welfare of these orangutans. We all hope that the released orangutans would form a new,
independent, and sustainable wild orangutan population,” he emphasized.

3.Police capture crocodile in public park after restaurant escape

A crocodile was taken into custody by police in China after a security guard found the reptile wandering
loose in a public park.

The Xinqiao Police Station in Changzhou, Jiangsu province, said a security guard at Xinlonghu Park
spotted the 6 1/2 foot crocodile in a roadway with its mouth tied up by a piece of cloth.

Police were summoned to the scene and took the crocodile to the station, where they later determined
the animal had escaped from No. 1 Lakeside, a restaurant near the park.

Officers said the crocodile had been destined to be slaughtered for its meat.

Police said workers at the restaurant were advised to use more caution in preventing potentially
dangerous animals from escaping the facility. The crocodile was returned to the restaurant.

4.Woman Swallows Engagement Ring In Sleep Thinking It Was All A Dream

A California woman who dreamed of swallowing her engagement ring says she woke up to discover it
had actually happened ― leaving her in need of an emergency medical procedure to extract the sparkly
morsel.

Jenna Evans of San Diego was sleepwalking on Tuesday night when she said she swallowed her 2.4-carat
diamond after dreaming that she was on a high-speed train and the only way to protect her ring from
approaching “bad guys” was to swallow it.

This diamond engagement ring was removed from a California woman’s stomach last week after she said
she swallowed it while sleepwalking.

She said she started to come to and realize what she was doing, but then, “I assumed this too was a
dream, because WHO ACTUALLY SWALLOWS THEIR ENGAGEMENT RING, so I went back to sleep.”

5.Bear’s balcony balancing act caught on camera by homeowner

A Colorado woman captured video of a poised black bear’s balancing act on the balcony of her home.
The Conifer resident said she recently removed the “bear barrier” that prevented animals from climbing
on her home to allow a roofer access.

She said the barrier’s absence led to a visit from a bear that climbed onto her balcony and carefully
walked across a narrow railing.

The woman said her home has frequently been visited by the bear and she has taken to keeping food
locked away to protect it from the visitor.
