PAPER DOLLS
If you played with dress-up paper dolls while growing up, you probably remember how much
fun it was! From an adult (parent/teacher/therapist) perspective, we can also see how useful
this activity is for a child’s development.
Here are a few important skills that making paper dolls and playing with them can encourage:
• fine motor skills and scissor cutting practice
• creativity and art skills
• storytelling skills
It is also a simple and portable craft, and you can make as many copies as you want!
The printable anatomy doll set is a playful and hands-on companion to studying anatomy with
kids. In order to make the dolls even more personalized, kids can colour the black-and-white
versions which are also available. (If they want to dress them, here you can find some
additional clothes for them.)
In the anatomy set, the dolls come with layers that represent different human body systems.
Placing a system layer on the body layer helps children visualize the interconnected layers of
the skeleton, muscles, and other internal organs.
HOW TO USE
1. Print the templates on sheets of card stock.
2. Cut the dolls from the pages with the base dolls. This set works for boy and girl dolls.
3. Cut the clothes out, using scissors or a hobby knife.
