Bio:

Jordan Smith is a 24 years old African American woman from

Chicago, Illinois. In her early years, she gained a passion for music. She
enjoyed how it made her feel and how someone can express themselves
through tunes. It really amazed her. She studied her favorite authors such
as J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar and Asap Rocky to name few. She knew at
young age that she wanted to work in the music industry, she wasn’t
sure how but she knew she would.
Jordan went through high school being known as the girl that knew
everything about music. Where her favorite artist were, when the release
dates for their new projects were and much more. When she graduated
she went on to go to an HBCU, with the name of Howard University.
Transitioning into high school to college, was very difficult for Jordan.
She struggled with her mental health and thought many times about
dropping out. She felt lost in this big world, she didn’t know her
purpose. She knew she wanted to be in the music industry so she thought
of ways that she could combine her passion for music with her skills.
Jordan was a very personable person that loved to talk. So she started a
podcast where she talked and reviewed different artist in the industry.
She also brought her fellow peers in for interviews that were aspiring
artist. This brought her lots of joy. This podcast landed her an internship
with Warner Music Group.
There she was, she had her foot in the door so she knew that she
had to put her all in so she could stay in the music industry. With this
internship, she was able to interviews of people in the industry, connect
with individuals for different labels and was able to be on many sets of
music videos of some of her favorite artists.
She is now a senior at Howard University, with a job offering in
the Public Relations department of Warner Music Group. There are days
that she still struggles with pushing through but overall she knows that
she will be okay in the end.
