BOSS CASTING.
4 CHECK THE GAP / SAG BETWEEN PROPELLER SHAFT FLANGE AND AFT INTER SHAFT
FLANGE BY ADJUSTING NO 3 INTER SHAFT BEARING AND TEMPORARY JIG HEIGHT.
B) AFTER LAUNCHING
I . INSERT CHOCK LINERS FOR INTERMEDI ATE SHAFT BEARI NG AND TI GHTEN THE
FOUNDATI ON BOLTS AFTER TESTI NG THE LOADS OF I NT. SHAFT. BEARI NG.
2. CONFIRM THE SHAFT ALIGNMENT BY MEANS OF JACK UP TEST ON
THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT BEARINGS AT AFLOATING/COLD CONDITION
SHOWN ON DRAWING P A G E j H O . , IN THE ATTENDANCE OF SHIP OWNER AND CLASS.
3. IF THE CONVERTED BEARING LOAD BASED ON JACK UP LOAD ARE NOT WITHIN
THE TOLERANCE, THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT BEARING HEIGHT TO BE ADJUSTED
BY SCRAPING THE CHOCK LINER OR INSERTING SHIM PLATES.
