The Talomo River is the heartbeat of Hedcor’s Talomo Hydropower facilities that produce clean

energy to power thriving metropolis of Davao City. The Department of Environment and Natural
Resources – Environment Management Bereau (DENR-EMB) has included the river among 31 water
quality management areas nationwide and called on stakeholders, private firms and communities to
work together for a cleaner river, protecting water quality and improving it where needed.

The main problem happened to the river is water pollution caused by the community living
nearby the river. With millions of lives dependent on Talimo River, Hedcor took the responsibility of
making sure it’s 4-kilometer upstream portion continues to thrive, further strengthening ties with
DENR’s Adopt-A-River program.

Hedcor will participate in community mobilization activities of DENR and the Local Government
to solicit the community participation and support for the program and ultimately provide a healthy,
