TERRORISM

Terrorism is a act of destruction, fear that is


created in the minds of all people and that is
un-ethical to society, politics,etc., in every
ground. The use of force or violence against
persons or property in violation of the criminal
laws of a Government. The person who
performs such brutal act is tagged as a
‘terrorist’.
Causes of Terrorism…

Most terrorist acts result from dissatisfaction


with a religious, political or social system or
policy and frustration resulting from an
inability to change it through acceptable non
violent means.
Motives for terrorism…
•Producing widespread fear.
•Attracting the attention of the media.
•Weakening or embarrassing the
Government.
•Extorting money and weapons.
•Destroying or disrupting lines of
communication.
•Damage infrastructure.
•Disrupt normal life.
•Direct killing of enemies.
Results or Effects of
Terrorism…

•Gives power to powerless.


•Causes great psychological shock.
•Loss of innocent lives.
•Disruption of normal lives.
•Creates a topsy-turvy situation for a
Government.
Types of Terrorism…
Mainly two types-
•Domestic or National Terrorism.
•International Terrorism.

The others are-


•State Terrorism.
•Religious Terrorism.
•Issue oriented Terrorism .
International Terrorism
The unlawful use of force or violence
committed by a group or individual, who has
some connection to a foreign power or
whose activities transcend national
boundaries, against persons or property to
intimidate or coerce a Government, the
civilian population, or any segment thereof,
in furtherance of political or social
objectives.
International Terrorist Groups or
Organization

•Al-Qaeda from Afghanistan lead by Osama


bin Laden.
•Abu Nidal Organization(ANO) from Libya
lead by Sabri-al-Banna.
•The Harakat ul-Ansar(HUA) from Pakistan
lead by Maulana Saadatullah Khan.
Terrorist Activities…
•On 11th September, 2001 Al-Qaeda lead by
Osama bin Laden hijacked four passenger
planes and flew into the World Trade Center
and The Pentagon.
•Terrorists from Pakistan attacked the
Parliament of India on 13th December, 2001.
Gun attack happened which lead to the
killing of 9 policemen and the 5 terrorists.
•Attack on Mumbai at two prime hotels on
26th November, 2008.
Weapons Used…

•Fertilizer Bombs.
•Dynamite.
•Human Bomb.
•Automatic and Semi-Automatic and Pistols.
•American Stinger.
•AK-47.
Minds behind such
acts…
Mainly learned persons involve in such type
of activities, whom we would not suspect to
be a terrorist. There are engineers to doctors
to graduate students even pilots who are
expertise in their domain. They are all genius
and have one of the finest brains. They
indulge with perfect planning and timings in
their acts.
Conclusion…

Good and Evil remains side by side


maintaining a balance with each other.
Terrorism cannot be fully stopped but can only
be reduced.
