Associated Learning Standard(s): The resource may be generally applicable, if so, simply state that. List any ISTE-S standards that
seem to naturally align with the selected resource.
This application is generally applicable because it can be applied to most standards that have to do with
technology. I aligned it specifically to standard ISTE-S 2a-2d because the students would need to create an
account and they would be posting thing along, while developing and managing their digital identity.
Introducing them to this would begin to teach them about engaging in positive, legal and ethical when they
are online.
RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.
This tool includes boards that teachers can create and then post. Once they are created, they can be shared
with students and the students can add their own posts or comment under one the teacher made. From
what I saw, the amount that one can do depends on the template that is chosen, I found that some
templates were a little harder to work with. This resource is really like an online discussion board where
students can see everything that is being said right in front of them. I saw it as almost kind of replicating an
in class whiteboard with ideas.
INTEGRATION IDEA - COLLABORATION
How might you integrate this resource in a lesson plan to promote collaboration among students in your classroom, or among
students and others outside of the classroom?
I would use this tool as an online discussion board. I see this being used more for homework, where
students will read assigned chapters from a novel and then they have to go online and I would place them in
small groups on Padlet so that they can have a discussion online. I chose the “presentation” template so
that I was able to add 4 posts to the top of the board and then students were able to comment under them
for the discussion aspect. I also added an extra post so that students could post additional questions specific
to the book. This is something that can be done in class, but if they are able to successfully do it through
Padlet, then we could use our class time for other activities.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
● Based on the “value-added rating scale” above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
● Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

I would rate this tool a 1.5 for an in class resource because the lesson could be taught without it. I feel that it
would not add a whole lot to the lesson or engagement of the students because they are really just
replicating what an in-person discussion would look like. This would probably work better for an online
classroom where there is no opportunity for in-person discussions. I think the students would get a lot more
out of it, especially because Padlet has the option to add multi-media. I don’t think this tool would be adding
a creative or unique aspect to students in a traditional classroom.
