Associated Learning Standard(s): The resource may be generally applicable, if so, simply state that. List any ISTE-S standards that
seem to naturally align with the selected resource.
This resource is generally applicable, there are two options; one that connects peardeck to google slides to
be able to add animation to the slides, and the other one is a standard vocab list. These can be leveraged for
any standard. This technology aligns with ISTE-S 1a because the activity that comes with the vocab list
allows them to set and work through their learning goals.

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.
I used it to make a vocabulary list, which can be used to simply present, similar to quizlet. Pear Deck has an
additional tool that goes with the vocabulary, which is a game called “Flashcard Factory” where students get
to play and the teacher would project it on the board during class. Students work in teams to create
flashcards that the class can study from later. The class is split into two teams, from there the students in
each team will pair up and one student will be tasked with writing an example sentence for the word and
the other student has to draw an example of the word. As they submit a word, the students get the next
one and after they finish then the teacher goes through them on the board, where they will be able to go
over the sentences and drawings submitted.

INTEGRATION IDEA - PRESENTATION

How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote students’ presentation/speaking/communication skills?
I would use this tool in a lesson plan to present vocabulary that will stick with the students. Their
speaking/communication skills will be developed as they have to work in groups and work together to come
up with sentences and pictures for their vocab word. If their sentence or picture is rejected; it is not a good
example to add to the class set, the students have the opportunity to contest and defend their example,
which will help to develop their presentation skills as well as their speaking to large group skills.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
● Based on the “value-added rating scale” above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
● Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

I would rate this tool a 2.5 because the lesson could be taught without this resource, however, it is a great
enhancement to a lesson. I think that it would definitely increase student engagement and support
retention of vocabulary words because the students would get to interact with the words instead of just
being handed a vocabulary list with definitions. The examples of sentences and drawings that the students
create will then be used to create a study set for the class that they will have access to.
